Hit The Slopes SKI AT HOME & ABROAD |
|
I am a terrible skier, but I love ski towns. For someone that is personally not a huge fan of hurtling uncontrolled down a mountain, I seem to spend a good bit of time in ski towns. I adore everything about them, and I don't feel left out at all that I am not hitting the slopes. More time to shop. And have that glass of wine ( or two, Ok, three) at lunch. Make dinner reservations. Are you a “cup of cocoa in the lodge” ski-vacation person, or a “just one more run” ski-vacation person? Either way, if the thought of snow-covered mountains has you dreaming of a getaway that doesn't include beaches and pool bars, this weeks post might be just the thing for you, First name / friend WHY? 🏔 Unbeatable Scenery: Ski destinations have some of the most breathtaking landscapes in the world. Even if you’re like me and not falling face first down the slopes, you’ll be surrounded by stunning beauty—perfect for settling in with a book or hitting the boutiques in town. 🏔 All-Around Adventure: Whether you’re a beginner or a pro, ski towns are packed with activities like snowshoeing, ice skating, snowmobiles, and even dog sledding. You don’t need to strap on skis to join in the fun. Ten minutes of snowshoeing ( at least the way I do it) burns as many calories as an intense Orangetheory class. 🏔 Après-Ski Bliss: THE BEST PART. Cozy up after your day with fun restaurants, live music, and all the local traditions that make winter getaways so much fun. From fondue in Switzerland to craft cocktails in Vermont, 🏔 Get The Fam Together: if you have adult kids, and they are in the eye-rolling stage or just “too busy” to vacation with poor old Mom and Dad, a ski trip is amazing “bait”. Trust me on this one. Winter is officially here, and so is the chance to zip down the slopes, wander through mountain towns, and sit by the fire. |
