What was Moroni’s resolve?  What is yours?  Why is the gift of the Holy Ghost so precious to you?  What is your gift from God?  What does it mean to you to take the name of Christ?  This week we are studying Moroni 1-6 in Come, Follow Me.

We are so excited about the new tip-ins for this year.  Here is what we envisioned when we were creating these… an experience where you can gather with any age group (adults, teens, kids)  to have a meaningful discussion once a week.  All of the tip-ins for every age group work together to create a lesson experience for every age.  Instead of having a separate journal, our hope is that your scriptures will become your journal this year!  You can write your notes in the wide margin scriptures, and place this tip-in inside the pages.  Created so the whole family could study together, and so that you would end the year with a book of scripture filled with the lessons we all study together.  

 

We will walk you through how to use the tip-ins each week during our lesson.  Then you can find a time that works best for your family to study together and do your scripture journaling.  

 

These tip-ins are a combination of facts and context to help you understand each section better, along with questions in worksheet form to allow you to find application from each section in your own life.  It’s the best of both worlds written in a format to fit right inside your scriptures so you will never forget the learning from this Doctrine and Covenants year.

This week we are learning about the names of Christ.

Talk about the names of Jesus Christ this week.  Have each of your kids circle their favorite one on this sheet and then talk about why it is their favorite.

Take some time to read each of the names on this sheet.  Circle the names that are your favorites.  What would your Sacrament worship feel like if you considered a name of Christ to think about?  Which name will you take?

Consider studying a name of Christ each day as you prepare for Christmas this year.  Consider what you are learning as you partake of the Sacrament each week and ponder what it means to take His name.
