NEW YEAR SNAIL MAIL SWAP
The postcard swap we did in April was so much fun that I wanted to host one more before the year ends. Since this month seems to fly by and can be pretty full, I thought instead of a holiday swap we can do a new year exchange! Hopefully this gives us more time and makes things feel less rushed. Plus we get to start 2025 with some fun snail mail!

For the new year, I thought it would be fun to send a postcard and share a quote, song / lyric, mantra, or poem you find inspiring, hopeful, uplifting, warm, joyful.

A friendly reminder that this space is inclusive of all beliefs. Since we may not know our lovely swap match's background, culture, or faith, I kindly ask you to please refrain from sharing religious topics out of respect for our diverse and beautiful group. Thank you!

THIS SWAP IS FOR:
Anyone who enjoys sending and receiving snail mail! International participants are welcome. You will have the option of opting in or out of being paired with matches in other countries.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Send a postcard to each of your swap matches with words for the new year
  • I'd like to put participants into groups of 4 (maximum), that way each person will receive 3 postcards in the mail. However this will depend on how many people sign up.
  • By signing up you agree to send up to 3 postcards and to meet the deadline.
  • Optional: If you'd like to send more than the the required postcards (such as a greeting card, letter, stickers, etc.) you are more than welcome to! But please note this is completely optional and a postcard is what you should expect to receive.

IMPORTANT DATES:
  • Jan 5th, Sunday is the last day to sign up for the swap.
  • Jan 11th, Saturday is when you'll receive information about your swap matches.
  • Jan 25th, Saturday Please send all your postcards out by this date or earlier if you can!

Help spread the word! Please share with a fellow snail mail lover, shout it out in your newsletter, and if you're on Instagram, I will be sharing posts and stories about it and would so appreciate a re-post / re-share. Thank you so much for sharing / joining me in some snail mail fun!

MID-MONTH SHARES
It felt a tiny bit late to call this November shares so here are some things I thought you might like for the middle of the month :)
  • 50 ways to be ridiculously generous
  • Currently on repeat: Lasso the Moon (watch this cute reel of the singer's parents throughout the years--it has 17 mil views!) by Tiger La Flor (I also like Save A Horse, Break A Heart)
  • A reminder about our progress this year
  • “Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us.” Listen to the Pale Blue Dot in its entirety (it's less than 4 minutes long). Thank you Archna for sharing this with me!
  • A sweet story involving 2 strangers and a penguin sweater
  • The older I get the more that I see / My parents aren't heroes they're just like me / Cause loving is hard / It don't always work / You just try your best not to get hurt / I used to be mad / But now I know / Sometimes it's better to let someone go / It just hadn't hit me yet / The older I get -  â€śOlder” by Sasha Alex Sloan
  • Trader Joe's Ultra Moisturizing Hand Cream Still the best lotion that saves my cold dry hands every winter--esp over here in WA where it's been in the 30s!
  • The Christmas Song by the Ravonettes - First heard on The OC's Chrismmukah CD, still one of my favorites!
  • Home Sweet Home A sweet ornament idea! Thank you Claire for sharing! She also told me how on Google Maps you can look up past years of your house and see how it's changed which is pretty fun--this also might be a good place to find pics for this DIY ornament!
  • Gift Tags You can find a bunch to print out as well as a blank template if you want to make your own in the PDF Library!
  • Support small businesses this time of year! Stop by local crafts and artisan markets, check out pop ups, share your favorite companies and brands with your friends and family, look for fair trade and goods that give back, and write those 5 star reviews--it makes a difference.
Have a good weekend, talk to you soon!
