This is week 6 of my Fly or Flop experiment at being a digital nomad in Lombok..

Life is beginning to take shape !

It's been a good few weeks of settling further into a routine here in my new life in the tropics.

I'm feeling much more settled and able to plan my days and manage in the heat by splitting my day into activities that suit the temperature.

I take the cooler mornings to make the most of being able to swim so close to home and live the healthier lifestyle that was one of the big incentives for being here.

I am a 10 minute walk to the beach and my local cafè/restaurant which has a fabulous pool I can use, so I go there every morning once I've checked emails and messages from the UK that have been sent whilst I'm asleep (I'm 8 hrs ahead)

Then I have time to do some domestic chores, shopping, laundry (sent out and it all comes back for a few pounds smelling fresh, washed and ironed = heaven!)

It is rainy season here and so between 1pm & 3pm I normally take some down time to sit and watch the rain as it's torrential and quite something to behold. I check in with social media and respond to emails and general admin.

At 3pm it's 7am UK time and I tune into my friend Dawn's Radio show (SEE NEWS BELOW) which is broadcast live, it's a great way to feel in touch with the UK & listen to her chatter away and listen to great tunes until 9am UK time 5pm local time.

Most days I have a what's app chat, zoom or video call scheduled with a friend and then after a good old natter it's time for supper and chill on the sofa with Netflix!

EXCITING NEWS
I will be co-hosting a show once a week on Dawn's station!!!
More details to follow once things have been confirmed …

I have been thrilled to have been in touch with a couple of journalists who are interested in my story & I've had interviews on the phone about my
decision to move to Lombok to live life to the full.

I think my favourite bit of this week was being able to go plant shopping and have such amazing choice yet everything is so affordable. Teracotta pots were about £2.00 each and plants ranged from £2.00 to maximum £10.00 for the beautiful tree including the pot that I have put in the back corner of the outside space.
You can see the video over on my Patreon Blog where I share loads more info

I will be posting more detailed videos, photo's, voice notes and any other ways I can think of to share my experiences and help you find out what my adventure in life as a 50 something woman is like, I'll go first in the hope that if you are thinking about doing anything similar you can learn from my mistakes and be inspired by all I share.

So that's my news, I'm off to have another shower as it's 30degrees here and the most humid part of the day as the rain storm is coming!

Thanks for reading, I'll be back in a few weeks with my “Studio Stuff” email which will have more details of my current client projects….
