Dearest flower friends,
Happy Thanksgiving! Wishing you and your families a day filled with love, food, and gratitude.
Today is a day to celebrate each other and the gifts of the earth - the food that nourishes us, the flowers that brighten our days, and our loved ones that make life worth living.
Recently I’ve been reflecting about the notion of “savoring” - to indulge in the taste of an experience, to be fully present and attuned to its flavors and sensations. To dine together is a spiritual experience that makes strangers into friends, connecting us across cultures, and warming our hearts. May today be filled with savoring the beauty and joy of this moment.
On that note, I give thanks for the soil, the nutrients, the water, and all the systems and people that make today’s feast possible. It is inspiring to think about the unifying force of food, and the mass-coordination required to bring something as seemingly simple as a single sweet potato to the table.
Today, I offer a blessing to be spoken and shared:
“With gratitude, we honor the soil, water, and sun, the elements that gave life to this meal and the unseen magic that blooms in flowers, reminding us of the beauty and wonder all around us. We thank the hands that nurtured this food, the earth’s gifts that sustain us, and the connections that nourish our hearts—friends, family, and the web of life we all share. May we savor each bite with presence, allowing it to fuel our bodies, inspire our spirits, and deepen our gratitude for the abundance of this moment.”
