December 1st—how'd that happen?! Thanksgiving is in the rearview (and it was wonderful), and now the Christmas and Hanukkah seasons are officially here. How cool is it that they both kick off on the same day this year? By the way, in case you’re wondering, they're only 3 weeks away—so giddy-up and let’s make this a December to remember!

 

Yesterday was the big Michigan–Ohio State game, which brought back memories of epic (and stress-inducing, but mostly fun) days in my house growing up. Dad, a rabid Ohio State alum, was the ultimate Buckeyes fan, while Mom, was a proud Michigan grad. When they moved to Columbus while I was in college, Mom found herself surrounded in OSU territory and tried to keep the peace by toning down her Michigan loyalty. If it had been me, though, I’d have been the most obnoxious, outspoken Wolverines fan in town (and at home)—but that’s where Mary and I differed. Ha! 📣

 

Dad used to get so upset when OSU had an incredible season only to lose to Michigan in “the only game that matters.”  Oops, they did it again yesterday. Sorry Pops. 😬

 

I like to think they watched yesterday’s game together upstairs, with Mary as the ever gracious winner. Poor Dad. 

 

Here's a fun shot of them with my 1st and 2nd sons (I was pregnant with #3). Notice the t-shirts…But I do see Mary snuck in her maize. 💛
