SEATTLE – The post-Thanksgiving travel surge is in full swing as holiday travelers head home, but Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) offered a surprisingly smooth experience for many.
Outside the airport, long lines of cars formed at the terminals, typical of a busy travel day. However, inside, travelers reported fewer issues than anticipated, despite the temporary closure of Checkpoint 5 due to ongoing projects.
Sunday marks the second-busiest day of the Thanksgiving travel period, with SEA expecting to see around 177,000 passengers pass through its gates.
While the holiday rush often brings delays and congestion, many travelers noted that this year’s journey was less stressful than expected.
Airport officials continue to advise travelers to plan ahead, arrive early, and stay updated on terminal changes for a seamless travel experience.
