We caught up with our Community Impact Fund Grantee, Eat Sleep Ride CIC to see what they have been up to recently…

"At Eat Sleep Ride CIC, our young participants have been actively involved in creating a nature walk, researching endangered bird species, and hosting a conservation conversation. They've also designed and built a sensory garden, incorporating cutting and willow weaving elements. In the spirit of the season, we've introduced Christmas vouchers inspired by their experiences and are organising a festive party. Many of our youth are eager to participate in the Kilt walk. Additionally, we've welcomed a new team member to manage our social media, who has already coordinated a content-shooting day.

These initiatives reflect our commitment to empowering young people through hands-on, community-focused projects. Their dedication not only enriches their personal growth but also contributes positively to our community and environment''

Looking forward to seeing how Eat Sleep Ride CIC expand on their project and how the other nominees have been getting on. Stay tuned for next months newsletter for more updates!

                                                               â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦

And over at Stand up Sisters CIC in Bolton, who's funding will go towards a 7 week textiles zoom project titled Quirky Cats and provide hope through creativity for women with lived experience of mental health issues, substance misuse and sexual/domestic violence…

“We have been creating sample cats, gathering ethically sourced fabrics and preparing craft parcels for postage and delivery. We have also been marketing the project”

We can't wait to see the outcome of these Quirky Cats and we wish all our grantees a wonderful and restful Christmas!

What a year it’s been! We’ve officially wrapped up our 30 for 30 campaign - 30 acts of giving, 30 ways to support incredible causes and countless moments of connection and community!

This campaign wasn’t just about giving back; it was about showing how small steps can make a big difference. From supporting local food banks to growing moustaches for Movember, we’re so proud of everything the team has accomplished.

We’re also beyond grateful to everyone who supported us this year - your generosity and enthusiasm made this journey unforgettable.

Here’s to a year of giving—and to carrying this spirit forward into 2025 ❤️

Lukasz Kuzma

Production Manager
MEET THE TEAM

Meet Lukasz Kuzma, our dedicated Production Manager who has been an integral part of the Imperial Polythene family for the past 9 years.

With his wealth of experience, Lukasz ensures that every aspect of our production runs smoothly, delivering high-quality products to our valued customers. Let’s dive into Lukasz’s insights and learn more about his role and what drives him.

What do you enjoy most about your role as Production Manager?
One of the things I enjoy most about being a Production Manager is the opportunity to build connections—whether it’s working closely with my team or meeting new clients. I have made some wonderful and lifelong friends here at Imperial and that makes everyday worthwhile.

Production can be busy! How do you stay organised and make sure everything runs smoothly day-to-day?  I always aim to plan ahead as much as I can, but flexibility is key in production, as the unexpected can happen daily. Whether it’s managing last-minute orders or addressing supply issues, staying adaptable ensures we can respond quickly and keep everything running smoothly.

What’s one tip or trick you’ve learned over the years that makes your job easier or more efficient? Over the last 9 years I’ve learnt to focus on what can realistically be achieved in a day. Staying calm and maintaining perspective keeps me level-headed and less stressed.

When you’re not busy managing production, what do you enjoy doing in your free time? Any hobbies or interests that help you unwind? My schedule stays quite busy even after work, as there’s always something to do! However, I make time to start my mornings early, waking up at 4:30 a.m. for a walk in the park with my dog followed by a gym session. It’s a great way to energise myself before work.

And finally… If you were stranded on a desert island and could only take three items with you, what would they be and why?  A drinks cooler filled with Beer, bars of Bounty chocolate and a BBQ.

Thanks Lukasz for sharing your insights—and for letting us know you’d be the life of the party if stranded on a desert island!
