I am writing to you from Bavaria while cruising the Danube River aboard Scenic Jasper to visit sparkling Christmas Markets in the ports of Prague, Nuremberg, Regensburg, Salzburg, Vienna, and Budapest. Although it is currently raining, this European region is beautiful, full of history, tradition, and incredibly talented artisans.

 

While the weather is chilly, the warmth of the people, sumptuous foods, (and some mulled wine) are making this journey truly memorable. Here is just a taste of the exceptional crafts, food, and glittering sights that I will be sharing with you on my blog soon.

The new year is shaping up to be a busy one, and I’m so excited to share my discovery of fascinating, unique, fashionable, and delicious Things with you all! Here is the Port of Call’s travel schedule to date.

I will be writing a unique feature story about a special organization named Mujeres Movimiento and several female artists in Sayulita, Mexico. This quaint beachside destination is located less than an hour north of Puerto Vallarta, and you will be amazed by the culture and talent I find there. I also have the pleasure of partnering with professional photographer, Elizabeth Opalenik, for this project. Her talent and creativity are astounding!

 

A cruise to Mexico aboard the Discovery Princess will provide an opportunity to share more stories of traditional Mexican art and crafts I discover in the sunny ports of Cabo San Lucas and Mazatlan.

 

The end of April will find me on a private chartered cruise aboard a Moorings Powercat to the British Virgin Islands. While I may not find a bevy of artisans at these small islands, I will share daily adventures as we captain our own vessel throughout the breataking BVI’s.

 

Join me in the historic port of Boston, before I cruise on NCL’s Jewel to return to one of my favorite ports of call, Bermuda. While I have already covered many of the Island’s talented creatives, I look forward to meeting a new group of artists and craftspeople that I missed during my visit last year.

 

After spending the summer on our boat in San Diego, I will embark on a most FANTASTIC European voyage! I will begin by cruising on the Sun Princess to visit the Mediterranean ports of Rome, Naples, Crete, Mykonos, Istanbul, and Athens.

 

After disembarking in Athens, I will fly to London, and board the Emerald Princess to visit the historic Northern European ports of London, Brussels, Rotterdam, Oslo, Gothenburg, Copenhagen, Aarhus, Hamburg, and Paris.
