December 2024 | Issue No. 55

Hello & welcome to my December newsletter,  the final installment for 2024. Can you believe 2025 is just around the corner?!  If you follow me on social media, you may have seen that I am partnering with an amazing local organization as one of their Visionary Sponsors. The Women’s Economic Self-Sufficiency Team dba WESST is a statewide 501(c)(3) small business assistance organization committed to supporting individuals in New Mexico who want to start a business or improve the performance of an existing one. Founded by three women in 1989, WESST proudly targets its services to women, people of color & low-wealth New Mexicans. In the spirit of giving this holiday season, I thought I'd dedicate my December newsletter to sharing about their mission & ways that you can get involved, either through giving or participating/receiving via their services or classes.

WESST offers immeasurable service to our local small business community. I took classes there in 2009 & was impressed by their mission & dedication to growing & serving New Mexican entrepreneurs. Since their founding in 1989, WESST has evolved & grown, while always staying true to their vision. They provide a support system of consulting, training, incubation & lending to entrepreneurs & small business owners. With locations all around the state, from Albuquerque, Rio Rancho & Santa Fe to Las Cruces, Farmington, Hobbs & Roswell, WESST truly serves New Mexicans in every corner of the state. They employ a “no barriers to entry” approach, which means there are no prerequisites for clients or qualifications to be able to access assistance. Their goal is to educate, encourage & inspire clients to achieve their business goals.

WESST's commitment to assisting women in business is especially close to my heart. They are part of the U.S. Small Business Administration's Women's Business Center Program. Six of their locations around the state are home to a Women's Business Center. They understand the unique challenges & needs of female entrepreneurs. One of their popular workshops, the Brown Bag Lunch, is free & held during lunch time to accommodate busy schedules. Important topics range from money management to writing an effective business plan.

WESST New Mexico Small Business Client Directory

If you are still shopping for holiday gifts for your loved ones, there is this great resource list of WESST clients who would love your support this season. I always think shopping local is a win-win, your loved ones receive a thoughtful, locally made gift. You give back & support our economy & the livelihood of small business owners in your very own community, who are truly the heart, soul & backbone of Albuquerque & New Mexico. The perfect pairing to embrace the spirit of giving this holiday season.

Albuquerque November 2024 Real Estate Market Update
The holiday season is a great time to buy a new home, with fewer buyers in the market & more available inventory to choose from. You are more likely to get the home you want at the terms you want. Give me a call if you have questions or are thinking now is the time to buy. I can help you find your dream home!
