A Fresh Start for February
Did you start the year with big goals but feel as if they have slipped away? Don’t worry—it’s common to lose momentum as life gets busy. Here are a few tips to help you get back on track or stay on track:
Reassess Your Goals:
Were they realistic? Break large goals into smaller, achievable steps.
Celebrate Small Wins:
Every healthy choice adds up. Did you add a vegetable to dinner or drink an extra glass of water? That’s progress!
Build Consistency:
Focus on creating habits, not restrictions. Small changes lead to sustainable results.
Find Accountability:
A coach (like me!) can keep you focused and motivated.

The Power of Protein
Protein isn’t just for athletes or bodybuilders—it’s a vital nutrient that supports everyone’s health and well-being. Whether your goal is weight loss, improving body composition, or simply feeling more energized throughout the day, protein is a cornerstone of balanced nutrition.
In recent training sessions and wellness conferences, protein has been highlighted again and again as one of the most crucial macronutrients for optimizing health. As a coach, I have been diving into the latest research and strategies to help clients incorporate more of this powerhouse nutrient into their lives. Here’s why protein deserves a starring role on your plate:
Keeps You Full Longer: Protein is incredibly satisfying. Unlike quick-burning carbs, it helps you stay fuller for longer, reducing the urge to snack or reach for less nutritious options. By keeping hunger at bay, protein makes it easier to stick to your goals.
Supports Muscle Growth and Recovery: Whether you’re hitting the gym or simply staying active in your daily life, your muscles need protein to grow and repair. Maintaining muscle mass is critical for overall health, mobility, and strength as we age.
Boosts Metabolism: Did you know that your body uses more energy to digest protein than it does to process fats or carbs? This is called the thermic effect of food, and it’s one of the ways protein can help increase your metabolic rate, supporting weight management and energy balance.
Protects Against Muscle Loss: As we get older, muscle loss (sarcopenia) can become a real challenge. Adequate protein intake helps combat this by preserving lean muscle mass, keeping you strong and active over the years.
Promotes Healthy Aging: Protein isn’t just about muscles—it’s also essential for hair, skin, nails, hormones, and immune function. It is a building block for health and vitality at every stage of life.

If you’re wondering how to make protein a regular part of your meals, start with simple, delicious options like lean meats, fish, eggs, tofu, cottage cheese, and Greek yogurt. And don’t forget to check out this month’s recipe for a protein-packed dish that’s quick, easy, and flavorful!
