Sometimes, the easiest design solution is a a simple copy and paste. I've been working on a lot of new scoring patterns lately, and while there are a million different ways to make patterns, sometimes I just want to go quickly. So if you're in the mood for fast, here's a 2 minute video explaining my duplicating process.

 

Speaking of patterns, I asked for feedback on Facebook about what's in your lasering workspace, and you gave me so many great ideas. I created this quick pattern using the same method above, with a few tweaks here and there. And now it's the brand pattern for Conversations Behind the Laser!

 

Sooo the last time you heard from me, I was teasing a file subscription announcement…that didn't happen! We were literally 2 hours away from launching during Black Friday (sales page ready, storefront polished, email sequence prepped) when everything shifted.

 

While I can’t share all the details yet (sorry, annoying), I can tell you this: the new direction is even more exciting than the original plan.

 

Here’s what's stuck with me: in business, it’s not about clinging to the plan you’ve invested time in—it’s about trusting your gut and embracing pivots that make sense for the bigger picture. Those “wasted” hours preparing? They weren’t wasted at all! They were part of the journey that led to something even better. Plus, now I know the ins and outs of Shopify for the future (and I 100% recommend it for file sellers).

 

So if you’re facing an unexpected turn, you don’t have to see it as a setback. See it as an opportunity to build something better. Trust the pivot—it might just lead you to your best idea yet. And stay tuned!
