Today marks our collective entrance into what should be a season of deep rest. A time to slow down, hibernate a little, and reflect on the past year. This is also a season of dreaming—of imagining what could be, even as the world around us feels heavy with responsibilities and demands.
We know, as busy moms, as single moms carrying so much, this idea of deep rest can feel like a tall order. To pause, to prioritize stillness, might even feel impossible when the weight of caregiving, work, and the daily hustle presses relentlessly.
But we want to remind you that rest isn’t always about hours of sleep or luxurious moments of quiet. It can also be about carving out small, sacred pockets of time where we give ourselves permission to simply be. To breathe deeply. To journal for five minutes. To take a walk around the block to clear our head and spend some time with nature. Rest can be the choice to stop for a moment, no matter how fleeting, and allow ourselves to reconnect with what we need.
And dreaming? Dreaming is a form of rest too. It’s giving ourselves the freedom to imagine life beyond the constraints of what is. To consider new possibilities for joy, connection, and ease—not just for ourselves but for our children and our communities.
