This year I've been trying to take each month a little slower--sometimes by choice, sometimes because situations forced me to 😅, That meant not jumping ahead, enjoying fall and Halloween, not worrying about Christmas until Thanksgiving had come and gone, etc. Even though it may have put me “behind” sometimes, I have really found myself enjoying it. So I don't totally feel ready to recap 2024 yet (it's not officially over, we have a few more days :)) but I did think it would be fun to look back at the vision board I made back in January (and haven't looked at for months!) Below is what I found as well as one last list of shares for the year!

DID MY VISION BOARD COME TRUE?
At first glance I felt like I cheated a little--I was on the road and knew I would continue that trip so most of the travel images I added would most likely happen. But then I realized that's not actually true--I didn't really know where I would go or how and when this journey would end. And I definitely didn't know how things would unfold! Here's how some of my vision board manifested…
  • Butterflies: I saw the most I have ever seen in my life--mostly in Texas during wildflower season!
  • US Map: I traveled from one coast to the other bringing the total number of states visited to 30
  • Passport: I renewed mine and went to Toronto & Vancouver! (Was it because I have a photo of the Toronto skyline that I ended up staying there so long??)
  • Valentine is still by my side and she got to see and enjoy a lot <3
  • Fall Foliage: when I added these images I had New England in mind and falling into my 40s with friends amongst the leaves! I had to turn around before I made it there but fall foliage still happened--just in WA instead! And it was so so beautiful and I got to see it with some of my best friends and still celebrate this milestone together.
  • Heart: I got to experience so many beautiful connections with old and new friends.
  • Financial Freedom & YouTube: still working on both! With traveling and everything happening with Valentine, I didn't have the capacity, time, or motivation to really focus my energy on these two things although I thought about both a lot! I'd like to return to these two in 2025.
Did you make a vision board? What was on it that came true?

DECEMBER SHARES
I really love putting these lists together and hope you've been enjoying them :)

What's new and coming up in the new year:
  • New Year Inspiration Postcard Swap A friendly reminder that Jan 5th is the last day to sign up!
  • At the start of each month I'll be sharing a little inspiration in the form of the written word--a mantra, quote, poem, story, song lyric, etc.
  • I'll be hosting the free Creative Spark Challenge every month starting in Jan! We'll use prompts from the Creative Spark Deck, I will provide ideas, inspiration, and a tutorial, and at the end of the month I'll be hosting a Zoom call where anyone who interpreted the prompts can join and share what they created.
  • I'll be sharing about the Creative Spark Challenge in these newsletters. If you are on Substack and prefer to stay in the loop that way, you can subscribe there (the info will be exactly the same so no need to sign up for both, just wanted to give the Substack option for those who use the platform :)) Stay tuned for more details!
A few favorites from the year:
  • Frozen Kind Bars These are SO good! By far the best recommendation I received this year--thank you Archna! Dark Chocolate Almond Sea Salt & Nut is my favorite followed by cherry. I usually get them at Target and it's the best mid afternoon pick me up snack or dessert!
  • Handsome is a podcast hosted by Tig Notaro, Mae Martin, and Fortune Feimster (who has a little white pom named Biggie!!) I listened to this podcast for most of my drive from Toronto to WA! It made me laugh and kept me entertained on long stretches. Thank you Vanessa for this awesome rec! Diary of a CEO, Dear Shandy, The Moth, & This American Life continue to be on rotation too!
  • #HappyKim's 5Things newsletter continues to be something I look forward to receiving in my inbox! They include 5 fun, thoughtful, and interesting articles, stories, and more--it's always a quick and enjoyable read.
  • I FINALLY watched Bridgerton and easily binged all the seasons but my favorite was actually the spin-off, Queen Charlotte. Have some tissues handy!
  • Monopoly Deal is easy and fast to learn and really fun! It's also nice it's just a deck of cards and you can play anywhere.
  • If you ever find yourself on the coast of Virginia, take your pup and go on a boat tour of Chincoteague Island to see ponies, bald eagles, dolphins, and more! It was a truly magical experience! Here are a few snippets and I went with Daisey's Island Cruises.
  • And if you're looking for a National Park to visit, I highly recommend White Sands--it was beautiful and felt like I was in another world--you can also slide down the big hills!
  • Lastly, if you're new here or curious what was on other shares lists, you can find all 26 newsletters from these past 12 months here :)

I hope you enjoy the final days of the month and year!
