Hello Beautiful Soul,
Has this ever happened to you? The other day I found myself pondering something I have always known, only to find myself considering it with new eyes.
Morning Reflections
Not long ago, I was walking my dog early one morning and it struck me how we describe the sun moving across the sky.
For instance, at the start of my walk, there are often colors of orange and pink, or sometimes pink and blue and lavender. All of this as the sun first appears to emerge in the north and east sky, rising behind the trees.
By the end of my walk, the sun has moved further south. It is higher in the sky, above the neighborhood elementary school.
On that particular morning, I considered how inaccurate my conditioned language is when I refer to the sun. The construct of the the sun rising, moving, or even setting in the sky suddenly felt like I was cheating myself from a different natural wonder.
Like all of us, I know the sun is not really rising, moving across the sky or setting, and that Earth is rotating and orbiting around the sun.
However during that walk, I was suddenly compelled to pause and absorb the miracle of standing on a planet while its steady, rotating movement feels imperceptible.
Pausing for Truth
Coming to a stop on my walk, I looked up and then closed my eyes imagining that my body actually could feel the earth moving.
Of course, I couldn't physically feel it. Still, somehow something inside of me moved - my perception.
My perception expanded and shifted to allow me to notice my thoughts and references about the sun are filled with more myth than truth.
The truth is that the earth is always moving. In fact, all of of life on this planet is moving.
Even if I can't actually feel it, I can make space to acknowledge this movement and shifting all around me.
Within me.
Within us.
December Light
This month as we celebrate so much…
As Light takes on a special and spiritual significance for so many of us….
As light “returns” to the Northern Hemisphere with the winter solstice…
I invite us to consider the light within us.
I invite us to notice the shifting around us.
I invite us to consciously recognize what is moving and changing within us.
Especially Now
May we make space to slow down and acknowledge all that is unfolding for us and through us.
May we be masters of practicing Presence.
Thank you for reading this month's message for our inner heart and soul.
