A Journey of Five Years—and the Next

I thought some of you might be interested in hearing about the past five years from my perspective—as the co-founder, board chair, executive director, and all-around person/mom just trying her best. My strengths have grown, and my imperfections have kept me humble.

How do you keep going?

There are so many beautiful stories, and I had wanted to capture each one after every event. But then another event came, and the stories continued to unfold. Every meeting holds a story—unspoken words, quiet cries for help, hugs of support, tears, encouragement, and gratitude. This work is nothing but that. And I can tell you, you truly get so much more than you give.

Next month, we will begin capturing these past and present moments in our blog. Stay tuned for our first share—it’s something I can’t wait to reflect on with you.

Join Us in Building a Stronger Walt’s Waltz

Our Vice-Chair, Barbara, is leading the effort to develop our committees, and we are looking for volunteers to step into key roles. Right now, we are especially seeking individuals to join our Financial Committee under fundraising, with a focus on our Annual Walt’s Waltz Raffle Rouser, our largest single source of funding.

If you have experience in fundraising, financial planning, sponsorship outreach, or simply a willingness to help, we would love to have you on board. Your support—whether big or small—makes a meaningful difference in sustaining our mission.

Interested in getting involved? Reach out to us and be part of something truly special.
