2024
in review
We love taking a moment to reflect as we move forward:
January: the launch of our MASTERMIND workshops, and our candle collaboration with local non-profit Freedom Warriors.
February: Kaelyn Rose entered the world, and we had the launch of House of Hatters hat bar in our shop! We also got to make so many designer florals to bring intention and beauty to Valentine's Day.
March: we welcomed new artist The Broken Circle Soap co. into the shop.
April: a spring clean workshop with The Heart's Mirror, and the Made in Tucson market!
May: our beautiful Rewritten Mothers' Day event.
June: we celebrated the power of fatherhood, rewritten.
July: we took a little summer break to reset and refresh!
August: we highlighted Bynd Books as we reflected on back-to-school memories.
September: our back-to-basics MASTERMIND workshop was so powerful, and we followed it up with our monthly floral workshop (a highlight every month!).
October: we had a month full of workshops, and welcomed the new owners of The Good Thistle.
November: we welcomed new artist Lorain Inglis, and celebrated Thanksgiving as a MASTERMIND group!
December: we joined with other local businesses at the Made in Tucson market and the 4th Avenue Street Fair, as well as welcoming the Christmas season with joy and lots of great holiday candle scents!

Begin Again
written by Kimberly Neal
My family and I packed up this year on Christmas Eve, and flew out of town for some much needed family time. That's right, two adults and ALL FOUR LITTLES.  Each kid had their suitcase and winter gear.  They all looked so adorable rolling through the airport with their neck pillows, and snack packs ready to go!  You can just imagine their sweet conversations amongst themselves and with others that commented on their load.  Let’s just say all the work was worth all of the joy.  We  loaded up on the plane praying for kind humans along the way to show grace to my little wild family as we trampled down the airplane aisles. Sure enough, we had kinds words, helpful hands and generous humans.

For those of you that have never endured places like Costco or the airport on holidays: good for you. These experiences are not for the faint of heart. Truthfully, what kept me moving is envisioning my family together in a loving and thoughtful space filled with good Christmas love and holiday cheer. Well, we did just that, and it was amazing. However, these feelings and experiences were unfamiliar to me in my family unit. After high school I often spent most holidays with close friends and other families. It was not what I wanted, but a gift I later realized I was given.  I was able to see other families model a different behavior with impactful traditions. I slowly began to build a vision I craved for my future. A few of my favorites are a Christmas morning egg dish (Thank you Tessie!) my family loves, and my father in laws homemade popcorn on movie night (miss you Dad).

Have you found yourself in that place? Wanting to give to the ones you love what you didn’t have? Then so desperately never wanting them to feel what you felt by what you lacked? Maybe you are the opposite: you so desperately want to give them what you think they also need?

These feelings fuel you, and most importantly create visions of what life should be. Although there is truth to this, I am confident that you can create a new future, but we are not able to turn a knob in someone's heart or mind for good. What we can do is be living proof of what could be. My mentor always reminded me: we only have control of our own self.  We choose who holds the pen of our rewritten story: steering our mind, heart, and choices.

So here I am choosing.  Choosing the road of the unfamiliar, knowing it requires an internal work of understanding and not a fight to be understood. A true release of expectations. That this love I choose runs so deep within that it would be a healing agent in my soul; that I would always have something to give. The hope would be to leave a mark for others in their own journey. Including my children so they could have the courage to live rewritten as they are on their own journey.

Join us in the rewritten, as we launch this year with a challenge to hold our own pens as we write out our lives each day. Cheers to twenty-twenty-five! Here’s to intention. To begin again with all that lays ahead - let's do this!

See you in class or the shop!

Rewritten,
Kimberly
