For most of us, January means two things in your mailbox- tax documents and new health insurance cards! Both of these things have definitely been in the news lately, so I want to provide you with a couple of resources that might be able to help if you find yourself in a bind.
If you don't receive those tax forms that you're expecting, you'll want to contact your former employer/payor to see if they can reissue them. Even if you still don't get them, you are still responsible to report that income.
IRS Form 4852 is here for you! It can be used instead of a missing W-2 or 1099.
Did you know that all insurance companies are regulated through the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance? I think most of us have had the experience of having a claim denied or not covered at the amount we expected. If you think that a claim has been denied which should have been covered,
you can file a complaint here.
While I hope you don't ever need either of those links, I'm always happy to share tips that might be helpful!
Wishing you a calm 2025,
April
