Hi First name / friend, Welcome to the first Friday Finisher of the new year. I hope you had a nice break, found some time to relax and step away from the computer and enjoy the down time. I certainly did. As I always say, rest is productive.
While I've got your attention, I thought it would be good to do a little housekeeping in the new year. With that done, and if you're still here, let's jump into the design goodies this week. |

Design Criticism Culture Sucks… So the dust seems to have finally settled after that Jaguar rebrand. It felt like the whole internet (not just the designers) were jumping on the bandwagon throwing hate to all the designers involved in the branding.
I like discussion around design, but sometimes I feel it goes a step too far, and many of us forget that it is real people that have designed the work that is getting mocked online.
This article by Abbey Bamford dives into discourse and why we should be mindful next time we come across a piece of design we don't like. |

Check Out This Epic Street Food Rebrand I've just got back from 5 days in London, and if you know me personally, you know I'm a foodie, but a lazy one. I think I'm probably Uber Eats most loyal customer.
This week I came across this epic branding project by UK agency Thisaway, for food delivery business Karnival.
It's got everything I love about a brand, texture, bold colours, and a clean logo type. |

HD Scribble Brushes for Photoshop I'm starting off the year with a truly epic download for you this week. I presume most of you use Photoshop, so if you are needing some new brushes to play around with, then you've got to check out this massive scribble pack.
Use them to add some texture and dimension or even highlight some typography.
Check them out below and if you use them in your work send them over to me, I'd love to see. |

A Font Made Out of Pretzels I'm always looking for ways to be more creative, and what is more creative than making a font out of food?
The process is really fun to see and now I'm thinking what other food items could be used for fonts?
Take a look below and maybe try making your own version, I'd love to see the attempts. |
