What does a typical day look like for you as a Business Development Coordinator at Imperial?
As a Business Development Coordinator at Imperial, a typical day involves conducting market research to identify new business opportunities, preparing and participating in meetings with potential clients, collaborating with various departments to create proposals, and tracking the progress of ongoing projects. I also focus on building and maintaining client relationships, analysing competitor activities, and supporting the development team in executing strategic initiatives to drive growth.

What’s one lesson you’ve learned in your years of working in sales?
One key lesson I've learned in my years of working in sales is the importance of building authentic relationships with customers. Trust and understanding their needs leads to more effective solutions which ultimately drives sales success.

How do you approach building strong relationships with clients
By actively listening to their needs and concerns, demonstrating empathy and maintaining open and transparent communication. Regular follow-ups is essential in nurturing these relationships over time.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending quality time with my children and catching up with relatives and friends. I also love swimming, tenpin bowling, baking, and experimenting with new recipes.

If you were stranded on a desert island, what three items would you bring?
Sun protection, torch and a knife.

Thanks Patty! Practical and prepared and we see you’ve already claimed the role of team survival expert. Ray Mears would be proud.
