DAY 2: Audacity to Challenge the Status Quo
“You have heard that it was said... But I say to you...” – Matthew 5:21-22
Devotional:
Jesus had a way of flipping the script. During the Sermon on the Mount, He boldly redefined the norms of righteousness. He didn’t shy away from challenging the established teachings and interpretations of the law. Instead, He raised the standard, not to burden, but to bring clarity and truth.
The audacity of Jesus wasn’t in tearing things down for the sake of rebellion but in revealing a better way. Love your enemies. Forgive without limit. Give generously without expecting a return. These weren’t just words; they were bold challenges that turned societal norms upside down.
It takes audacity to stand in front of a crowd and say, “I know this is how it’s always been, but here’s what’s better.” Jesus wasn’t intimidated by tradition or the fear of ruffling feathers. He cared more about fulfilling His mission than conforming to human expectations.
