Dear Friends,
Happy New Year! As we turn the page to January, our cozy cottage garden may be blanketed in frost and sometimes snow, but that doesn’t mean it’s sleeping. This time of year is when dreams of spring begin to take root! Thank you to each of our 150,000 followers for joining us in 2025 on this enchanting journey. Your love for our little corner of the world inspires us to keep sharing its beauty.

hAPPENINGS IN THE GARDEN
Although the garden isn’t bursting with blooms, there’s still plenty happening:
  • Birdwatching: Winter brings an array of feathered friends. The feeders are stocked with seeds, suet, and fruit to keep them well-fed during these chilly days.
  • Winter Interest: The skeletal beauty of seed heads like echinacea and sedum provides texture to the frosty landscape along with ornamental grasses which give height in the winter landscape as I mentioned before, do not cut back until Spring and only prune wayward branches.
  • Planning: January is our favorite time for cozy evenings spent pouring over seed catalogs and dreaming of new garden additions.
  • Cut off old hellebore leaves at the first signs of new growth.
