If we were asked to sum up the doctrine and covenants in two words, it would be these:  ASK GOD.
Maybe you would like a banner like this to hang in your home all year.  If so, you can find it here!

DO YOU WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THE TIPINS?

We are so excited about the new tip-ins for this year.  Here is what we envisioned when we were creating these… an experience where you can gather with any age group (adults, teens, kids)  to have a meaningful discussion once a week.  All of the tip-ins for every age group work together to create a lesson experience for every age.  Instead of having a separate journal, our hope is that your scriptures will become your journal this year!  You can write your notes in the wide margin scriptures, and place this tip-in inside the pages.  Created so the whole family could study together, and so that you would end the year with a book of scripture filled with the lessons we all study together.

We will walk you through how to use the tip-ins each week during our lesson.  Then you can find a time that works best for your family to study together and do your scripture journaling.

These tip-ins are a combination of facts and context to help you understand each section better, along with questions in worksheet form to allow you to find application from each section in your own life.  It’s the best of both worlds written in a format to fit right inside your scriptures so you will never forget the learning from this Doctrine and Covenants year.

TIP-INS for Kids
As you talk about Joseph Smith, talk about what Heavenly Father thought about Joseph Smith.  He loved him.  Ask your child, “What does God love about you?”  Have them draw it on their tip-in.

TIP-INS for teens
Read JSH 1:28-39.
How did Joseph describe himself?
Now read JSH 1:33-34
How did God see Joseph?
How do you see yourself?  How does God see you?

TIP-INS for individuals and couples
Don’t forget to glue the Questions that lead to each section tip-in this week.  Take time to look over those questions.  They will span 11 weeks of teaching.  How many of the questions and pleadings and desires are reflective of your own?  Then turn to Joseph Smith history.  What do you learn about who God answers and why He answers?

We love studying with you!
