OUR FIRST CREATIVE SPARK CHALLENGE PROMPTS!

I am very excited to share the very first Creative Spark Challenge post with you! Every month I'll be randomly pulling a card from my Creative Spark Deck and putting together ideas and inspiration to help you interpret the prompts we get. I hope they help spark excitement and motivation for your art practice and get your creative flow going! The challenge aspect is to make 1 piece of art each month this year. I hope you'll join me every month but free free to dip in and out and do what works best for you!

Here is the post for January which also includes a free digital art bundle and a playlist:

I had planned on sharing about this challenge earlier this week but it didn't feel right while watching all the devastation unfold in CA with the fires. While I 've always believed that creating helps us heal and process and can bring about beautiful connections, I was still torn--the level of destruction and loss that I'm seeing every day is massive and heartbreaking. Although I've relocated, CA was still my home for basically all of my life. I've been to these places that have been wiped out and it makes me so sad for the people and wildlife who are affected.

I was talking with a friend of mine and she told me that her friend had lost her house in the fire. And that same friend was also telling her how she had signed up for an art class that was happening next month and she was really hoping that it still happens because she needs it. This surprised me and also didn't surprise me.

I hope by continuing on with this monthly challenge, I can maybe offer something that someone needs during this difficult time. It also got me thinking of how I could do something to help and that's where the digital art bundle comes in.

While everything I share through the challenge is free, I do have a special ask for this one:

I teamed up with 5 of my talented artist friends to put this packet together. My hope is that by including more in this bundle and offering a variety of art, you will consider making a donation to support those affected by the fires in California in exchange for this PDF bundle (if you are able to).

You can donate to an organization of your choice or I’ve put together a list of organizations to check out in the PDFs. There are also other ways to support such as donating items or volunteering your time. Thank you for your generosity and kindness during these tough times.

Thank you Parmeet, Shay, Marisa, Jenna, and Susan for generously sharing your talents. If you have a moment, please show them some love:

Thinking of all of our friends in CA and sending lots of love 🖤

If you'd like to share your process / progress / finished piece, I would love to see! You can tag me on Instagram, @atiliay, or send me an email. Don't be shy :) Another way you can share is by joining me for the CSC Zoom call happening Saturday, January 26th at 1PM PST! This will be super casual and we'll just go around showing each other what we made and talk a little about it. You can RSVP throughout the month here.

Last thing I want to mention is that I'll be sending out the prompts via this newsletter, Atiliay Notes, at the start of every month. In addition to the challenge, you'll also receive the regular monthly emails: a mantra at the start and a list of shares (things I think you might find interesting, fun, useful) at the end. I'll also add reminders about the challenge in there.

If you have any questions please let me know!

Thank you for joining me for CSC! Here's to the power of creating--I can't wait to see your art!
Talk to you soon,

PS: This challenge is for anyone who is interested in creating--it doesn't matter what your skill level is or how much or little experience you have. It's not about making perfect art but tapping into our creative side and taking a little bit of action :)

PPS: f you liked  January's prompt post for the Creative Spark Challenge, please share with someone you know who you think might like it! You can forward this email and there's a link below to sign up for the challenge. That  would be the best way to support my work and I would really appreciate it! :)

You've received this note because you've provided your email address. You can expect 2-3 notes in your inbox per month.
