Can you believe it's 2025?! |
Hello & welcome to my first newsletter for 2025. I know it's cold outside & the January blahs may be setting in so I thought I'd share one of my favorite winter pastimes with you…vintage shopping! Albuquerque may not be the first city when vintage comes to mind, but we have some amazing shops in town. If you are looking for inspiration or a total space refresh, you're sure to find what you're seeking, plus the treasure hunt is the best part of the fun. |

Blendo Glassware Collection |

My love of vintage shopping runs deep. One of my favorite memories from my childhood is thrifting & vintage shopping with my Mom. Coming from a big family, we didn't prioritize having the newest things & often shopped secondhand. My appreciation & “eye” for design was born on those shopping trips. I still think about a blue velvet mid century couch that I remember seeing when I was maybe 7 or 8 years old. |
Do you enjoy hunting for vintage treasures? What is your favorite design style? Personally, I adore mid century modern, both architecture & design. The clean lines, colors, geometry & blending with natural elements are some of my favorite parts. I'm always on the lookout for new pieces…I definitely added a few doing “research” for this newsletter :) |

An absolute gem for vintage & mid century lovers (like me!) is Parklife ABQ in Nob Hill. This highly curated collection of furniture, decor, accessories & gifts rivals any city known for vintage shopping. The owner has an amazing eye for quality & style that creates an eclectic assortment any true vintage aficionado will love. They focus on sustainable goods & feature local artists as well, making this sweet shop the perfect place to find a gift or spoil yourself. Keep reading for a very special January offer from Parklife! |

For the true vintage/antique treasure hunter, Antique Specialty Mall on Central is the largest antique mall in Albuquerque. This vendor filled location features over 18,000 square feet & close to 50 different dealers, where you can find anything & everything from estate jewelry to mid century. You are sure to find something that sparks your inspiration, but make sure to give yourself plenty of time to wander through this expansive warehouse. You may have to hunt a little harder for the treasures because it's a big place, but they are there with lower prices than most. |

Vintage Vault has two locations filled with all the best handpicked offerings from 60+ shopkeepers. Their Nob Hill location features 6600 square feet of space & the Midtown location another 6000 square feet. What began with a couple of avid vintage collectors has evolved into a group vision that promotes the ”beauty & charm of mid century, antiques, collectible, vintage, retro & midmod pieces as a way of preserving history & culture." This view of vintage shopping is something that deeply resonates with me & even more reason to support this local business. |

And Stuff Retail Collective |
And Stuff Retail Collective, located in Nob Hill, features 20+ local vendors & makers alongside a selection of vintage furniture, decor & clothing/accessories. They pride themselves on being a shop that has “something for everyone.” Their location next door to Little Bear Coffee Co. gives you the perfect shopping excursion to grab a coffee to get energized to shop for all the books, plants, vintage & locally made goods. I mean, they have two of my favorite things-vintage & plants- so its sure to be a successful trip. For that hard to buy for guy in your life, they also have a man cave. There really is something for everyone! |
Voted 2024 “Best Antique Shop,” Antiques & Things is located in a former Five & Dime on Route 66. For over a decade this 15,000 square foot store has offered an eclectic assortment of vintage goods from 75 of Albuquerque's top vendors. You'll find any & everything ranging from jewelry, clothing, Western & Native American goods, toys, art & more. I found my beloved dining room bent wood chairs here in 2016 & recently scored a set of sweet purple velvet wrapped glasses made in Albuquerque in their original box that will be right at home with my vintage bar collection. |
Located in Nob Hill, Octopus Banana opened in 2024 with a beautiful collection of mid century modern & vintage furniture & goods. Make sure you don't slip on my drool when you walk into this shop! It's so well curated I want to go find another mid century house so I have a reason to buy everything there. I hear they just returned from a buying trip, so expect to find new treasures when you visit. |

Past, Present And In Between |
Past, Present & In-Between on Lomas is a 15,000 square foot treasure hunt & one of my favorite go-to spots for years. Filled with booth after booth of goods from exceptional dealers spanning decades of history, this is not a place to drop in when you're in a hurry. From furniture to decor to textiles, this shop has many one of a kind finds & their prices are normally super reasonable too. From rusty garden accessories to china, you'll find the perfect something for your personal collection. |
Heck Yeah Vintage recently opened their brick & mortar shop in EDO beside Squidly Store, after many years of collecting amazing vintage & popping up at local markets. Their eclectic & fun outlook on life is evident through the clothing you'll find on their racks. If you are into nostalgia, this is the place for you. Alongside amazing clothing, shoes & accessories, are a collection of games, memorabilia & everything in between to take you on a walk down memory lane. Ask about trades if you are looking to refresh your current wardrobe! Super tip-they organize by size & include waist measurements on many of the tags, so it's the place to stop if you want to pop-n to see what's new in your size. |
Avenger's Vintage is Albuquerque's high end vintage clothing & accessories stop. All of their clothing, jewelry & accessories are handpicked, so this family owned business offers a truly unique selection curated from travels near & far. They also specialize in authentic period clothing & offer a rental program utilized by TV & movie productions. They have been serving the NM film industry since 2020, so you never know who you might run into as you browse for that special & timeless addition to your wardrobe. |

What better way to spend a cold January Saturday afternoon than at the theater watching a movie? I have organized a fun customer appreciation event & hope you can join me! You received a classic movie poll last month in keeping with this month's vintage theme. However, the studios decided to pull Jurassic Park & Back To The Future from their selection so we are going with the Disney new release of Mufasa: The Lion King, based on the classic storyline of the Lion King. Meet me at Cinemark Century Rio Plex on Saturday, January 25th to see it on the big screen. The movie starts at 2pm, so arrive a few minutes early & check-in with the usher to let them know you are joining me in auditorium 3 for the film. |
Thanks for joining me again this year, I'm so glad you're here. I hope to see you at 2pm on the 25th at Cinemark Cinemas for Mufasa: The Lion King! In the meantime, please reach out if you have any questions. |
