Happy New Year! We had an amazing year and I’m excited to share some of the highlights and accomplishments from 2024, along with our vision, goals and what’s ahead in 2025.
- 2024 Highlights -
We celebrated the completion of the Kuria School Project, a 12-year initiative which brought clean water to 240 schools, impacting the lives of 150,000 children every single day.
We launched the first phase of our newest initiative called the Maasai School Project. This new effort started across the Migori River in the Trans Mara Region, to begin serving over 1 million Maasai people. We have already completed39 wells to date (watch here) for 39 schools.
Our dedicated 22 full-time Africa staff members achieved:
97 clean water projects, including a record number of deep-borehole wells.
Health and hygiene education for over 25,000 students.
Showing the Jesus Film to more than 8,000 children across 80+ locations.
Provided end of year provisions/food to over 100 widows.
In the U.S., we:
Welcomed two exceptional leaders, Jacob Young and Jeff Ickes, to our executive board. We are in the process of some internal restructuring in order to be more effective, scalable and to fulfill the mandate we have been given as an organization. Their involvement is already having a great impact.
Added Beth Glover part-time. Beth leads our social media communications and is a talented graphic designer, artist and communicator which has been evident in our branded campaigns and messaging.
Partnership Impact
We have been very encouraged by our partnerships with you and the generosity you have shown. Some incredible examples of our partners helping us this year:
Melissa and Jonathan Helser and the Cageless Birds hosted a benefit concert, raising $150,000 to fund 22 water projects.
Pat and Martha Aucoin contributed and helped raise close to $150,000 toward a new drill rig.
Our community of 150+ One Tribe members sponsored 32 wells together in 2024!
Lastly, our “12 Wells of Christmas” campaign raised $239,000, funding 26 clean water sources—more than double our goal!
Thanks to your overwhelming generosity, 2024 broke all previous records, with donations totaling $1,122,000—nearly double any prior year. We are incredibly grateful and in awe of God’s help through you, which will enable us to help more people than ever before.
- 2025 Vision -
Our plan is to continue drilling wells in the trans-mara region of Kenya, helping the Maasai people in Phase 1 of the Maasai School Project, which is already 50% completed (39 of 79 schools). We anticipate that all 79 schools will be completed before the end of 2025, prompting the beginning of Phase 2 for the Maasai people (more to come).
We hope to grow the One Tribe active members this year to 500 strong. We have fluctuated between 150-200 over the last 5 years. Growing to 500 would give incredible leverage to our sponsored water project pipeline.
Increased funding for wells requires obtaining more equipment. We hope to raise another $157,000 this year towards a new drill rigand support vehicle. This new rig is bigger than the one we already have, and will allow us to drill another 300’ deeper – which is crucial in order to reach the deep underground water table in the trans-mara region.
