Hi friends,

The highlight of my week was delivering a full-day training session on goal setting to a fantastic group of Ahli Bank employees.

We explored all the steps of effective goal setting to identify our key focus areas for 2025. The group was highly engaged and eager to put in the effort to map out actionable steps for their most important goals. It was exciting to see them fully engaged in the hands-on activities, working through the workbook I specially designed for this workshop.

By the end of the day, each participant had identified 2 or 3 goals they were ready to start pursuing immediately.

If you were part of this workshop, thank you for being so awesome! I am grateful our paths crossed.

On a personal level, my son celebrated his 9th birthday. As a family, we went to the movies and watched Mufasa:The Lion King, which we fairly enjoyed (We left the baby home, so I felt it was too long). Like my daughter, my son invited his friends to our house the next day, and they enjoyed the good outdoors.

In other news, my baby boy had his first solids meal, Zucchini! The experience was cute and funny to watch and emotional; I am not his only source of nutrition anymore, as he’s turning 6 months old this week!

Finally, here is an update on my No and Yes list implementation last week:

Here is my No list for January:
  • No phone in bed-Done
  • No snoozing in the morning (will turn off the phone at night and use an alarm clock)-Done except for the weekend.
  • No phone in the first hour of the day-Done.
  • No Social media or email on workdays from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm (supports quality time with the kids)-Done.
  • No to leaving work without writing a to-do list for the next day (check this podcast episode).-Done.
And in January, I will say Yes to:
  • Watching one episode of a show every day-Done.
  • Choosing my outfit the day before (supports being on time)-Done.
  • Choosing what podcast/audiobook/course I will listen to while I drive before I get into the car-Done.
  • Sleeping before 11 pm during the workweek-Done twice
  • Waking up at 4:30 am Monday-Thursday (to work on my goal of writing content, that will feed my blog, podcast, newsletter, and social media)-Done (and felt GREAT).
  • Waking up at 6 am on weekends for the same reason-Not Done, will cancel.
  • Time blocking my day-Done.
  • Speaking kindly to myself if I don’t do something on my list and try again the next day-Done.
What about you?
What are you saying Yes to and No to this month to make time for your goals?

You can even say no to certain kinds of foods, people, or thoughts; it’s up to you!

Share two things on each of your lists, let’s inspire each other to make time for our goals.

P.S. If you're thinking about it, it's not too late to join All Year Goals program, we're just getting started.

P.P.S. Let’s chat if you are considering hiring me to talk to your team about the science of goal setting, building habits, mastering focus to improve performance and time management, or beating burnout. Reply to this email, and we can start from there.

Snapshot from my week: Goal Setting Training with Ahli Bank Employees.

Here is your weekly dose of The Sunday Spark ⚡️ a newsletter listing 3 sparks that I thought were worth starting your week with:

1. 🎧 I have started reading the new book by Seth Godin called This is Strategy: Make Better Plans and I have a habit that I encourage you to try: listen to podcast episodes where the author discusses their book. It is a brilliant way to get the book. Here is the playlist I created for this book; I listened to the two fantastic episodes you'll find there and plan to add more.

2. 🪷I thoroughly enjoyed this blog post by Susan Cain How to live a Quiet Life, in 2025. It reminded me of my mantra for 2021: Practice Focused Attention. I will reveal my word of the year soon, stay tuned.

3. 💬 Quote of the week, should I make an episode about this topic?

“The quality of connection you have with your own Future Self determines the quality of your life and behaviors now. Research shows that the more connected you are to your own Future Self, the wiser decisions you make here and now. Contemplating your Future Self, you’re more likely to invest in and set yourself up for an abundant retirement, exercise and eat healthier, and you’re less likely to engage in delinquent or self-defeating acts.”
― Benjamin P. Hardy, Be Your Future Self Now

For the fourth year, I am delighted to present to you the New Year’s calendar as a gift to use to track your one key habit every month, to plan your appointments and projects, or to jot down one moment to remember every day.

The calendar this year is special because it has 12 journaling prompts under 12 themes you hear frequently about around here and in my podcast. I was inspired by the journaling challenge I launched back in November and I hope you will enjoy it.  I will elaborate on each month's theme as the year goes. lucky for you the journaling course is on sale for only 25$ celebrating 2025.

Enjoy your gift from me, how you use it is up to you.
