👏🏼 Engage your teachers.
If you're looking to widen your footprint to get your school name out in the community, ask teachers to post about your school on their social media and community listserves. They have networks that you want to reach! To get started, you can:
✔️ Send them an email with language ready to go for them to copy and paste;
✔️ Visit a staff meeting and remind them how they are part of the admission process;
✔️ Visit their individual offices or classrooms to connect with them.
Don't let Admission be an island. Connect with faculty and staff, and help them toss around love for the school like confetti.
🗓️ Synchronize your calendars
Be sure to send financial aid decisions at the same time as your decision letters. You cannot ask families to commit to your school without information about their financial commitment. Ideally, send the letters together. If you can't do that, send them within a few days of each other. Anything longer than that, you're losing a window for them to commit to you, and not to another school (who has already sent their financial aid decision.)
How to get started with this process?
Be sure to meet with your business office early and often to coordinate how to get everything done. Create a list of the components of the process and map out a timeline. Stick to it. You got this.
