New adventures ahead!
This year, I decided it was time to go back to the learning bench. Not just for one thing—but two! I’ve embarked on two creative side journeys, and I couldn’t be more excited.
First up, I’m studying for a Diploma in Interior Design with The Interior Design Institute. It’s something I’ve wanted to dive into for ages. Since we’re building our house from the ground up, it felt like the perfect moment to learn how to design and transform a space with intention. For someone who never formally studied design, I’m absolutely loving it—though I’ll admit, after more than a decade away from academia, following a structured school brief is a whole new challenge!
What else? Let's talk patterns…
If you’ve ever had an idea that lingers in your mind for years, you’ll get this. For five whole years, I’ve been thinking about creating wallpapers—but I kept underestimating the learning curve and letting time slip by. I am also not the most patient person. And it takes time to do this adult thing, marriage, building homes, building teams, looking after your animals.
Not anymore. I’ve finally decided to go all in and have signed up for industry leader and icon Bonnie Christine’s professional course on surface pattern design. It’s already opening up a whole new world and I'm like a child in the candy shop! I’ve found not just hundreds, but thousands of creatives out there on the same mission. How cool is that?
I’ll be sharing some studio updates and what I learn here as I go—My whole life just became a new field trip.
