If I were rewriting my book The Life of a Psychic Detective today, I might delve deeper into the origin of my first "yes" when asked to help detectives solve cases. I initially believed it stemmed from my need for justice—a need born of personal experiences where justice was absent. While that's true, there's more to the story.
I share this with you because our journeys may have more in common than we realize. You might find parallels in your own path. Perhaps you've pondered if you, too, could contribute to justice, whether by aiding in investigations or simply by tuning into the needs of others. Let's embark on this exploration together, understanding that the zigzag weave of discoveries in life can lead to unexpected paths, such as becoming a psychic detective.
What Does It Mean to Be Psychic?
"psychic" comes from the Greek word psuché, meaning "soul." Ancient Greek philosophers like Plato and Aristotle believed the soul was the essence of a person, pre-existing the body and continuing beyond it.
In many spiritual traditions, the focus isn't on cultivating psychic gifts directly but on opening oneself to universal flow. In Hindu teachings, for instance, the Third Eye (clairvoyance) isn't the focus; instead, one strives for connection with the Crown Chakra (oneness), allowing psychic abilities to emerge naturally.
Here's the truth: We all can connect to this flow. This 'universal flow' is a spiritual concept that suggests we are all interconnected and can tap into a collective consciousness. The difference lies in whether we focus our hearts on service and trust in our ability to make a difference. Can you allow your soul to guide you?

The Armchair Sleuth: Another Path to Psychic Investigation
Not everyone who helps uncover justice stands in the spotlight. Some work behind the scenes as what I call "armchair sleuths." By combining remote viewing, intuition, and healing work, these individuals contribute to the greater good from wherever they are.
In every class I teach, students learn simple yet powerful remote viewing and healing techniques, always grounded in ethical principles.
🌥️ Have you ever stared at clouds and wondered if you could move them? That simple curiosity mirrors the early steps of a psychic detective—seeing a mystery and daring to engage with it.
The Seed of Empathy
From the moment we are born, life presents us with mysteries: How do we crawl? Walk? Speak? Every new skill requires determination and a desire to uncover what lies beyond the next door.
For me, the seed of becoming a psychic detective was planted in childhood. My father, a self-taught engineer and creative problem-solver, introduced me to puzzles—whether they were intricate jigsaws or pieces of metal locked together that needed separating. I learned to see challenges not as barriers but as invitations to explore.
But it wasn't just the puzzles. When I lost my childhood friend Linda, who was a fraternal twin, something shifted in me. Her death at age 9 left a void I didn’t know how to fill. I longed to find her, even though she wasn’t “missing” in the conventional sense. My grief wasn’t just for Linda—it was for her sister Harriet, her parents, her brothers, and everyone who ever met her. I wasn’t allowed to see Linda’s twin Harriet or attend the funeral, which added another layer to my sorrow. At just 10 years old, I had no say, but I could sense the overwhelming grief her family endured.
My mother, terrified of their pain, distanced herself from their lives, and that decision left me with a deep understanding of how isolating loss can feel. It planted a seed in me—a promise to stay close to the fire, to hold people in my heart, mind, and soul as much as possible, and to never let anyone feel they are going through it alone.
This promise has stayed with me. I still keep in touch with families who are grieving decades later over a missing or murdered loved one. Their pain reminds me of Linda’s family, and my work with them is part of my commitment to ensuring no one feels abandoned in their sorrow.
.Later, I realized that this longing gave me the empathy to sit with others in their most vulnerable moments. It's the same empathy that allows me to hold space for those searching for missing loved ones or seeking answers to life's painful questions.
