Over the next few weeks, I'm going to focus our weekly #CreateWithCatCoq challenges on current and upcoming surface design trends from my 2025 Trend Report. 

 

I want these challenges to help you build a portfolio of trend-forward artwork, and there's no better way to kick off a new year than with some fresh, marketable illustrations!

Ocean themes are a semi-evergreen trend, but this new angle offers an elevated and luxe take on the classic seaside motifs. 

 

Think of luminous pearls, shimmering mother-of-pearl, and soft hues of iridescent

whites, blues, and pinks.

A few weeks ago, I prompted you to create art using the Pantone Color of the Year – Mocha Mousse. Pantone's color choice this year has been preeetttty polarizing. I wasn't sure about it at first, myself! But seeing the gorgeous artwork that this community has created with this creamy, muted brown has me fully on board with Mocha Mousse!
