Valence | Cast Glass + Steel | 2025 Best of Show @ Cowgirl Up!Ā

A Letter from the Edge of Becoming
This winter was the most creatively fruitful season of my life.
While I don’t love spending it entirely in Montana—
(I’d much rather be riding Mo among the hills of Southern California)
I set clear intentions to make it a productive chapter… and so it was.
Ā
In my 15 years as a sculptor, I’ve typically averaged three new works per year. From January- March 2025, I brought eight new pieces into being. And as if to echo that momentum, my most recent sculpture, Valence, was honored in Arizona with Best of Show at Desert Caballeros Western Museum Show - Cowgirl Up!Ā
What a gift. What a full-circle moment.
Ā
But let me be clear—this creative bloom didn’t appear out of nowhere. It has emerged from years of quietly tending the inner soil refilling my emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual well.
From the outside, those seasons may not have looked still.
Inside, they were deeply fallow.
Resting. Listening. Recalibrating.
Such is the rhythm of a life shaped by creation.

🜃 Oracle of Form
Lately, I’ve begun embracing the idea of myself as an Oracle of Form. It isn’t just a clever title—it’s both a revealing and a deep remembering of what I’ve always intuitively known, but hadn’t yet named.
I listen through my hands.
I shape what stirs in the unseen.
My work is not just about sculpture—it is about translation.
Of energy into matter.
Of myth into muscle.
Of feeling into form.
Ā
šŸœ„ What Is an Oracle?
Ā
An oracle is not a fortune teller.
An oracle is a vessel.
A bridge between worlds.
One who listens in stillness and shapes what is heard.
Oracles speak the language beneath language—
In symbols, textures, gestures, in the hush between heartbeats.
They don’t predict, they reveal.
They offer reflection, resonance, and the truth trembling just under the surface.
To live as an oracle is to stay attuned to the unseen.
To trust what wants to come through.
To shape the ineffable into something you can touch, feel, or behold.
This is what moves through me when a vision arrives, asking to be shaped. Ā And what is asking to be shaped next vibrates with myth, mystery and truth.

Cadence | Ā New Work in progress for glass

Ā
šŸœ‚ What’s Coming Soon
Ā
Summer calls us into the wild—into sunlit trails, shared meals by the lake, and time with those we love. Between adventures, keep an eye out for new works emerging from the foundry. I’m especially excited to see the latest glass sculpture, Cadence, come to life— a piece that holds rhythm in its curves, light in its bones. The title reflects the steady, grounded creative rhythm I felt all winter long.
Ā
Throughout the summer, I’ll be preparing for a vibrant fall season with:
– Gallery MAR, Carmel, CA exhibitionĀ
– Fall Arts at Altamira Fine Art, Jackson Hole, WY
– And a return to the Eiteljorg Museum’s Quest for the West for my second year
Ā

āˆž Would You Share With Me?
I’d love to know—what season are you in right now?
What truths are you listening for? What wants to take shape through you?
Hit ā€œreplyā€ and tell me. I read every message.

P.S. I wrote to you (but didn't send it, yikes) from sun-drenched California, where I spent the spring and finally made space to ride. Mo and I are rediscovering our rhythm ;}. I'm sending it from my flower filled back yard in Montana, where summer can mean snow in June and the visitors keep visiting!
