Week 5: Overcoming The Mental Hurdles of Sourcing
Let’s be honest; sourcing isn’t always smooth sledding.
Maybe you’re worried about spending money, picking the right supplier, or making mistakes. I get it. I’ve been in your shoes. 😬
Here’s how I’ve tackled these common hurdles:
1. Spending Money: It’s hard to invest when the outcome isn’t guaranteed, but every business step is a leap of faith toward your growth and ultimate success. Start small, test the waters, and build momentum.
2. Finding Reliable Suppliers: Communicating with manufacturers can feel intimidating, but clarity is your superpower. Be specific, ask questions, and don’t hesitate to request references.
3. Fear of Making Mistakes: Mistakes are inevitable but also lessons in disguise. Instead of letting fear stop you, embrace challenges as opportunities to refine your approach and grow.
Whenever doubt creeps in, I use Mel Robbins’ 5-Second Rule: Count down from 5, then take action. I'm telling you- it's magic!
It’s like jumping into a cold lake; you’ll feel a rush of nerves, but once you’re in, you’ll realize it wasn’t as scary as you thought. 😀

When I first started sourcing, the fear of spending money and picking the wrong manufacturer was real.
