During January, while the rest of the world might be wrestling with New Year’s resolutions, we’re looking forward to yet another year of serving NYC Youth. It's already a month into 2025, and we’re planning several ongoing projects on the horizon... |

AND THE WINNER OF THE UGLY SWEATER CONTEST IS… |
|
Last month, CASW held its very first Holiday Sweater Competition. We truly enjoyed watching our colleagues use their creativity and join in on the holiday spirit. Winners were chosen through vote with three distinct categories in mind. Here are the results: - Cutest Sweater: Jessica Valera from CASW-Workforce
- Coolest Sweater: Dahiana Kilroy from PS/MS 37
- Ugliest Sweater: Jeremy Guzman from PS/MS 37
Congratulations to the winners. Your coworkers truly appreciate your effort and ideas. As for everyone else, we look forward to seeing what you can come up with next year! |

As our WLG participants return from their school break, they’re already preparing for phase II of the program. To recap, phase I was all about brushing up on their professional skills; namely office etiquette, interview skills, and crafting the perfect resume. In phase II, these up and coming professionals will be able to put those skills to the test during their part-time internships. Likewise, our Learn and Earn Program is also underway, giving high school Juniors and Seniors the opportunity to gain work-experience and develop their professional skills. Soon enough, they'll be working their own internships over the summer, and also receiving academic support as they prepare to apply for college. |

In conjunction with a Lunar New Year Celebration, our COMPASS participants at PS 115 recently held a STEAM Night, where they were able to show off their craftsmanship and achievements. The event was open to families, and we believe it was a wonderful chance for them to see what our participants already do on a day-to-day basis!!! |
