A Heartfelt Thank You to Gabrielle Komorowski

As Gabrielle Komorowski wraps up her remarkable career at WYFF, I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude on behalf of Walt’s Waltz. Gabrielle’s compassionate storytelling and thoughtful interviews were instrumental in helping us advance our mission to destigmatize mental health. She always showed up with a warm smile, an open heart, and endless patience—even when I’d wander off in thought mid-interview or stumble over my words. She gently guided me through those moments with grace and understanding, embodying exactly the kind of empathy we strive to foster in our work. Gabrielle, you are one of those rare people who leaves a lasting imprint—you’ve certainly left one on me and on the entire Walt’s Waltz community. We wish you all the best in your next chapter and thank you for helping us share our story with the world. You will be missed!

Celebrating our wonderful supporter, Deborah Robinson

If you’ve ever been to a Walt’s Waltz event at the Phillis Wheately Center, chances are you’ve seen Deborah Robinson—because she always shows up! Deborah is one of our most tireless supporters, and we are so grateful for the light she brings to everything we do. If you happen to get your hands on one of our Community Cookbooks, you’ll find her beautiful, smiling face alongside her delicious recipe for strawberry bread. Cooking, after all, can be a wellness strategy. I know—it doesn’t always feel that way when your stomach is growling, the kids/your partner are calling out, “What’s for dinner?” and the pets are barking, meowing, or chirping in the background! And if you’re on your own, it can be hard to find the energy to cook for yourself. But sometimes, thinking about sharing a meal with a friend, neighbor, or even treating yourself like company can make all the difference. Taking time to enjoy the process, and then sharing the results with someone (even if it’s just your dog’s eager eyes or your own grateful heart!) can be grounding and healing.

On a personal note, Deborah often sends me the kindest texts and little nuggets of wisdom that brighten my day. I have never met someone who radiates positivity the way she does. Deborah, we are endlessly grateful for you and so excited to have you continue walking alongside us in this journey—you make every space brighter, and every person you meet feels it.

How You Can Make a Difference?
We want your establishment to be a part of this transformative movement. By becoming a Walt’s Waltz Stigma-Free Environment, your establishment  can help promote mental health awareness, offer support to those struggling, and encourage others to join the cause.
It takes one person, one ask, and one introduction to start the dance. Be the first in your organization to support this mission and make a lasting impact.
Contact Susan Crooks at susan@waltswaltz.com to learn more about how you can help us expand our mission.
Together, we can break barriers, normalize conversations, and create an environment of support for all. Let’s make 2025 the year we grow stronger, reach further, and create stigma-free spaces everywhere.
