Hey First name / friends!

We have lots to cover this week, so I'm going to dive right into it. If you've been in my world for a while, you probably know that Society6 has been one of my top recommended print-on-demand sites for new artists. I got my art licensing start from Society6 and it's always been a go-to platform to easily get started selling your art.

However, they've made a big shift that is impacting many of their artists around the globe and I wanted to talk more about it with you.

Yesterday, Society6 announced that they are removing some artist accounts to create a more curated marketplace to better serve their customers.

I know that many artists in this community have been affected, so I wanted to weigh in on this and share my two cents. I wrote a robust blog post with all the details including how to know if you were affected, and what to do next if your account was removed
I know that this is a devastating blow for many of you, and I'm so sorry if this has affected your income as an artist. Take a breath and remember that changes like this happen. Over the past decade as a self-employed artist, I’ve experienced my share of unexpected shake-ups, from sudden, drastic shifts like this to gradual “fizzle-out” transitions over time.

The thing that has always helped me recover from setbacks like this is to stay adaptable and be ready to pivot to other income streams.

I hope my blog post will help give you some clarity, resources, and a direction forward whether you've been affected by this change or not!

This week's challenge is inspired by the Lunar New Year and my 2025 Trend Report! This year is the year of the snake, and I've had a blast celebrating here in Thailand. It's an extra special year for the Buddhist temple near my house which was built in honor of those born in the year of the snake! This temple is back in the limelight after 12 years! (Although that’s nothing in its near 600-year-old history.)

Snake motifs are also an upcoming trend that I outlined in my free 2025 Trend Report. Take your snakes to the next level with an elevated, couture vibe. Think, sophisticated – not slithery. 😅

I can't wait to see your snakes on Instagram! Be sure to use the hashtag #CreateWithCatCoq and tag me @catcoq for a chance to be featured!
