We have started year #45 here at Good Works. We are so grateful, especially for the kindness and encouragement we receive as we labor in love for so many vulnerable adults and children.
I want to invite you to consider serving with us with a small group Work Retreat for a weekend OR on a Saturday this spring. We have opportunities for individuals and groups to serve with us this year.
Spring, Summer and Fall Work Retreats
We are seeking and welcoming small groups to schedule a weekend with us this spring (or fall) and a week-long service trip with us this summer. Good Works has a dorm in the Hannah House which can accommodate overnight groups and a kitchen to prepare food. Are you a part of a community or church which has interest in serving others? Please join us as we reach to seniors and those which disabilities at their homes. Contact us through email to see what dates are still open.
Saturday Service is designed for individuals to have an opportunity to join with others as we travel to the homes of seniors in Athens County and share our time and love. We have plans for 10 Saturdays starting March 15th. We will also be planting gardens again this year at the homes we serve through Neighbors Helping Neighbors. To join us one time , contact us by the Thursday before you want to come through email@good-works.net or by calling us at 740.594.3336. Volunteers arrive by 9:00 am and stay until 4 pm. Lunch is provided.

Loads of HOPE, our initiative to provide free laundry services at Sign of HOPE is going well, very well. We are serving and getting to know families and individuals every week!
Friday Night Life (FNL) continues to provide a safe community where people feel safe, respected, heard and loved. We gather every Friday from 4:30 to 7:30 pm at The Plains UMC. We move FNL to the Good Works property in April.

We are seeking ‘college age’ summer interns to join us for Summer Service this summer. Know someone you can encourage to explore this?

The Transformation Station provided vehicle #206 in early January. We are so thankful for all of the families who have donated vehicles to Good Works!
Good Works is sponsoring another teen agricultural internship this summer for teens (age 14-17) in Athens County.
