Hi Sugar Mamas,

One of the last quotes I shared with you from my yearly planner was: "You can spend your life drawing lines, or you can choose to live your life by crossing them." I didn’t take enough time to explain why this is so significant on your entrepreneurial journey!

As women entrepreneurs, we often find ourselves at a crossroads: You can spend your life drawing lines, setting boundaries, and staying within your comfort zone, or you can choose to live your life by crossing those lines, challenging limits, and stepping into new possibilities.

So, how does this connect with your "why," your word for the year, and your vision for where you’re headed? Lean into your purpose. Embrace the word that guides you this year, and stay grounded in the values that define you—especially as you pursue success with strength, faith, and resilience.
Every line crossed is a step toward growth and fulfillment.
Now that you are grounded, let's dig deeper into goal setting methods:

1️⃣ SMART Goals: This method helps make goals clear and achievable by ensuring they are:

  • Specific: Clearly define the goal.
  • Measurable: Establish criteria to track progress.
  • Achievable: Set realistic goals that can be accomplished.
  • Relevant: Ensure the goal aligns with your values and long-term objectives.
  • Time-bound: Set a deadline to achieve the goal.

Basic, but it works! There’s another method:

2️⃣ The 90-Day Sprint: Focus on setting goals in smaller, 90-day intervals. This technique encourages focus and a sense of urgency while breaking down larger, long-term objectives into manageable tasks. After 90 days, evaluate progress, adjust strategies, and set new goals for the next sprint. These methods help maintain clarity, motivation, and progress while avoiding overwhelm.

For my overachievers:
3️⃣ Backward Planning Start with the end goal and work backward to identify the necessary steps. Begin by visualizing the final result you want, then reverse-engineer the steps needed to reach that point. This helps you anticipate obstacles and clarify smaller tasks.

There are so many methods, so you have to try and see what works for you. If you can't see the steps, hire a coach!  And remember, planning and goal-setting aren’t just about your business!
