Lots of love from me to you from my backyard in snow-filled downtown Toronto

The Joy Document by Jennifer McGaha is like a permission slip for us midlife women to stop being so damn responsible and start adding more WTF energy and boldness to our days.

I agree that midlife isn’t always a crisis, it can also be an all-you-can-eat buffet of surprise and delight (hopefully without the heartburn). And if you’ve ever felt like you’re running out of time to shake things up, this book dares you to throw on some questionable footwear and go dancing anyway. WTF not?!

HOW WILL YOU GIVE YOURSELF PERMISSION FOR MORE JOY?

The premise: A low-level Cabinet member becomes US President after a catastrophic attack kills everyone above him in the line of succession.

Knowing we were late adopters to the show (which was filmed 2016-2019), I can't believe how close this edge-of-your-seat political thriller is to the craziness of politics today. Maybe they've got better lighting and nicer clothes, but the chaos and conspiracies prove that truth really is stranger (and scarier) than fiction.

HOW CAN WE KNOW WHAT'S TRUE VERSUS WHAT'S FICTION?

Being interviewed by an 8-year old is SO COOL!

Finnegan and I had a great chat on his podcast about how it feels to be upside-down for so many years, what it takes to be an Olympian, why trying many different things is a good idea when you're young, and what it means to have my book, Kika the Upside-Down Girl, inspiring kids around the world.
