During one of my first calls with my publishing agency, TSPA, we talked about the transformative journey from writer to author. It feels surreal to be in the midst of that process now.
I recently met my editor for the first time, and I felt an immediate connection. It’s such a relief to know I’m working with someone who truly understands the heart of my mom’s story. As I wait for the first round of edits, I’m diving into refining the other details—like my author bio, book synopsis, dedication, and acknowledgments. It’s exciting to see everything coming together!
While the book is about my mom’s story and the threads that wove her life, for me, I now understand fully the transformative journey that my publisher spoke of on such a deep, profound level. Through the writing process, my research opened my eyes to so many things I didn’t know about my mom, her past, and how they tie into my advocacy work in unexpected ways.
Reflecting on this, I’ve met incredible people who have experienced similar losses, fearless advocates, therapists, and a team of people who have supported my healing and growth.
I often say that I wouldn’t wish this journey on anyone, but the connections I’ve made have brought meaning and a deep sense of belonging.
Isn’t that what it’s all about?
I’m excited to share that, as part of this journey, I’m co-hosting a workshop this Saturday from 1-3 PM at the Vancouver Golf Club in Coquitlam with
Laura from Ethereal Aura Healing. We’ll be focusing on grief, trauma, and healing, and we're honoured to collaborate with
It’s Good Livin’ to offer a space for learning about plant medicine and its role in healing.
Plant medicine played a huge role in my healing process, so it felt like a natural extension to create space to discuss this with experts in alternative healing modalities.
Registration is free, but space is very limited. To secure your spot,

I can’t wait to share this experience with you!

I’ve also started writing on
Substack, sharing my thoughts on advocacy, grief, and healing. My writing weaves together the threads of my life: my personal experiences with grief, my advocacy for end-of-life issues, and my healing process. If you want to follow along, you can sign up

I also recently recorded a podcast on Assisted Death and Women, in which I delve deeper into some of these themes. You can watch it
here or listen wherever you stream podcasts.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support. It means the world to me as I continue this journey.
