YOUR MINDSET MATTERS
Ari Affirmations
My self-care is a priority, not an afterthought.
I give myself the love I so freely give to others.
I am worthy of time & attention, especially from myself.
Happy Monday, boo!

It's the final week of February, so let’s talk about love—self-love, to be exact.

You’ve probably heard about The 5 Love Languages by Gary Chapman—the idea that we all experience love in different ways. But have you ever thought about how those same love languages apply to you?

Because self-love isn’t just about bubble baths and spa days (although those are cute, too!). It’s about how you fill up your cup and show up for yourself—the same way you show up for those that you love.

Case in point: When a friend is going through it, you remind them they’re strong and worthy. When a loved one is exhausted, you encourage them to rest. When your bestie slays a goal, you celebrate them like it’s your win.

Now, it’s time to turn that same love inward.

So, today I want to flip the script and talk about how you can practice self-love based on your love language. If you don't know your love language, I encourage you to take this free quiz to find out.

And just so we’re on the same page, this is the ‘I-love-my-damn-self’ energy I’m talking about…

THE 5 LANGUAGES OF SELF-LOVE

1. Words of Affirmation: Speak Life Into Yourself

Your words hold so much power. So my question to you – what have you been saying to yourself lately, boo? If your inner voice has been giving ‘mean girl’ energy, it’s time for a reframe.

How to practice this:
✔️ Start your day with an affirmation that hypes you up.
✔️ Replace negative self-talk with empowering statements.
✔️ Write a love letter to yourself and actually read it.

Challenge: Stand in front of the mirror and say, “I am strong. I am worthy. I am enough.” Out loud. Yes, say it with your chest!

2. Receiving Gifts: Treat Yo'self

Listen, you deserve nice things just as much as anyone else. And no, it doesn’t have to be expensive, just something thoughtful that makes you smile.

How to practice this:
✔️ Buy yourself flowers, a cute journal, or that fancy coffee.
✔️ Upgrade a daily essential (a cozy robe, a quality water bottle, etc.).
✔️ Create a “joy jar” filled with little notes of gratitude and wins.

Challenge: Buy yourself a small, meaningful gift this week…just because.

3. Acts of Service: Be Your Own Biggest Supporter

You know how good it feels when someone does something thoughtful for you? Now, do that for yourself.

How to practice this:
✔️ Prep your meals in advance so Future You is stress-free.
✔️ Clean up your space—because you deserve a peaceful environment.
✔️ Set (and actually follow) boundaries that protect your energy.

Challenge: Do one thing today that makes your life easier tomorrow.

4. Quality Time: Spend Time With YOU

If you’re always pouring into work, family, and friends, but never yourself… let’s change that. Your presence is a gift, so give some to yourself.

How to practice this:
✔️ Take yourself on a solo coffee date or a long, peaceful walk.
✔️ Schedule “me-time” on your calendar and honor it like a meeting.
✔️ Put your phone on DND and enjoy your own company.

Challenge: Set aside at least 30 minutes this week for uninterrupted solo time.

5. Physical Touch: Care for Your Body Like You Love It

Your body does so much for you—it’s time to return the favor.

How to practice this:
✔️ Move your body in a way that feels good—dance, stretch, walk, or lift.
✔️ Give yourself a little massage (tension release for the win!).
✔️ Put lotion on slowly instead of rushing through it.

Challenge: End your day with 5 minutes of mindful movement or stretching.

This Week's Challenge

Pick one of these self-love languages and commit to practicing it daily this week.

Whether it’s speaking kinder to yourself, setting aside time for just you, or treating your body with the love it deserves—show up for yourself the way you would for someone you adore.

P.S. If you know someone who needs this reminder, hit that forward button and pass it along. Let’s make self-love contagious!
