My bestie and I hadn’t caught up in a while, so when she hit me up with the biggest news ever—she’s moving back to Cali!! I was beyonddd hyped.

Naturally, we went into full catch-up mode, rapid-firing updates on life, work, and extremely important personal revelations.

Like how I finally made the life-changing decision to say goodbye to thongs.

I have spent years putting up with the discomfort of a thong because that’s what I was told was the “right” choice.

Seamless.

No panty lines.

Sexy.

But one day, I had a moment — a horrifying, all-consuming moment of awareness.

I was sitting at my desk, mid-workflow, when I suddenly became hyper-aware of exactly where my thong was sitting.

And once I noticed, I couldn’t un-notice it.

This tiny, invisible discomfort I had been ignoring for years.

(Intrusive thought: or is it cuz you’re 30 now? PLS!!)

It was suddenly the only thing I could think about.

Every shift in my seat…

Every step I took…

There she was, an ever-present reminder that I was one wrong move away from a full-blown wedgie emergency.

And for fucking what?

Because someone, somewhere, convinced me that regular underwear was the enemy?

That comfort and function were somehow a step down?

FUCK THAT.

So, I did what needed to be done.

I threw on a pair of normal, full-coverage underwear, and GWERRRLLLLL — I have never known peace like this.

Looks like I didn’t need to spend my life secretly adjusting something that was never comfortable to begin with.

I just needed something that actually worked for me and my booty (…and my sanity, tbh).

my two cents fOr the week

Your Website Will Never Be "Done, And That’s Not a Bad Thing

And it's not because you’re doing anything wrong, but because it’s supposed to evolve with you.

And yet, here we are, spending hours tweaking colors, rewriting the same headline ten times, and obsessing over pixels like they’re life or death.

Or worse, letting it sit in DIY purgatory cuz who has time to be in there 24/7??

At the end of the day, your website doesn’t need to be perfect.

It just needs to work.

And if you're stuck in the loop of tweaking instead of launching, it’s time to focus on what actually matters.

The Website Checklist That Actually Matters
If your site can check off these boxes, it’s doing its job — whether you think it’s "ready" or not:

Does your homepage instantly communicate what you do?

Your homepage isn’t just a welcome mat — it’s your first impression. If a visitor lands on your site and still doesn’t know who you are, what you do, and who you help within a few seconds, they’re clicking away.

Quick Test: Ask a friend (who’s NOT in your industry) to glance at your homepage for 5 seconds. Then ask them, "What do I do?" If they hesitate? You’ve got work to do.

Is there a clear and obvious CTA?

Your website isn’t just there to look cute — it should guide people toward working with you. Think of your website as the map. That means your call-to-action (CTA) needs to be
✔️ Clear (They shouldn’t have to guess what happens next)
✔️ Obvious (Not hiding at the bottom of the page in tiny text)
✔️ Actionable (Instead of just “Inquire”, try “Book a free consult” or “Get the pricing guide”)

If someone has to hunt for a way to contact you, you’re already losing potential clients.

Is your site easy to navigate?

If clicking around your site feels like anything more than effortless, you’re losing them without even getting a chance.

Think simple, intuitive, and logical flow:
✔️ Homepage → Services → Booking/contact (a clear path to hiring you)
✔️ Menus that make sense (no weird, vague page titles)
✔️ No unnecessary clicks (Don’t bury important info three pages deep)

If someone gets lost, they’re not gonna stick around and figure it out — they’ll just leave.

NEXT!

Can someone tell who you help & how—without digging?

Your ✨ dream client ✨ should land on your site and immediately feel like they’re in the right place.

Look at your homepage right now. If someone new to your business sees it, will they instantly know:
  • Who you help (specific industry, niche, or type of client)
  • What problem you solve (or the results you help them get)
  • How they can work with you (without clicking around too much)
If your messaging is vague, confusing, or buried, you might be repelling the very people who need you most.

Does your site look trustworthy & booked—not unfinished & confusing?

A polished, well-structured site says, “I’m a pro, hire me”

A messy, unclear, half-finished site says, “I’m still figuring this out”

Clients want to feel confident about hiring you, and trust starts the moment they land on your site. If your branding is inconsistent, your links are broken, or your copy feels like it’s not really saying anything, people will hesitate to book.

💡 Quick Fixes:
✔️ Keep branding (fonts, colors, and design) cohesive
✔️ Update your copy so it feels clear and professional but still like YOU
✔️ If your site isn’t ready yet, use a placeholder — but make it temporary.
  • Sometimes you just need to get something live ASAP. If you’re still working on your full site, it’s okay to use a landing page, a Flodesk form, or even a third-party checkout for now
    • Don’t leave it there forever…or for long. Set a deadline to get it fully integrated into your website.
Annnnnnd if you need a website that’s already got a bomb ass setup

These Showit templates do the heavy lifting, so you can focus on running your business, not figuring out website design.

🍪 No cookie-cutter designs → because blending in is not the move.
✍🏽 Clear copy sections → so you don’t have to guess what to say (or where to say it).
🔍 SEO-friendly structure → so Miss Google actually ranks you instead of ghosting you.
👷🏽‍♀️ Built-in pages you actually need → because your website is more than just a homepage.

Hint hint: they’re already set up to check every box on this list.

And if you’re still piecing together what needs to go on your site in the first place, and where, I made this free workbook to help you map it all out (minus the overwhelm).

DIYing your website doesn’t have to be torture.
