Ingredients Demystified
What they are, why we need them and where to find them.

Hyaluronic Acid

Your skin's natural moisture factor.
Adding products that contain hyaluronic acid will return moisture to the skin and add that plumpness that we desire for a youthful, dewy appearance! It will also help to instantly help in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

You will find Hyaluronic Acid in:  The Main Squeeze Serum, The Balm, Peach & Honey Mask, Protect & Quench SPF 30,, Cherry Pepper Peel, Watermelon Mint Hydrating Mist and MORE!

Vitamin C

Skincare professionals LOVE vitamin C for its ability to reduce redness, heal breakouts, even skin tone, and aid in the healthy aging journey by decreasing fine lines and wrinkles. Vitamin C should be used daily, applied with your AM skincare.

You will find vitamin C in the Pomegranate Acai Antioxidant Serum, Blueberry Milk Moisturizer, Vitamin C & Ferulic Peel Pads, Daily Greens Moisturizer and MORE!

Retinoids

What are the benefits of using a retinoid? Retinoids work by encouraging cellular turnover, which in turn promotes the production of collagen and elastin. Increased collagen and elastin reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Other benefits include reduced inflammation and unclogging blocked pores making it great for acne prone skin as well as the healthy aging journey. Retinoids are not appropriate for teen/tween skin (unless prescribed by a physician.)

You will find Retinaldehyde in the Resurfacing Elixir as well as professional products used during treatment such as The Boost.

Peptides

Peptides are a popular ingredient among skincare brands due to their healthy aging properties. Peptides are present in every human cell and they work as messengers to communicate specific functions such as stimulating the skin to produce collagen and elastin. Collagen is the foundation that supports your skin and gives it that firm feeling, while elastin allows our skin to bounce back. As we age, we slowly lose collagen and these messengers (peptides) start to slow down. By applying peptides topically we are essentially tricking the skin into thinking collagen was lost and signals it to make more.

Peptides are found in the Main Squeeze Hydrating Serum, Lemon Lightening Serum, The Balm, Blueberry Milk Moisturizer, Kale Yogurt Eye Concentrate, Avocado Oil Lip Hydrators and more!

I brought in the Sorella Apothecary products 2 years ago because I wanted to have more “active” options for my clients. The feedback and results have been overwhelming. I'm so happy to have a line that uses science AND the magic of plants to bring balance to the skin. Not sure what is right for you? Reply to this email for curated suggestions!
