Your patients are under attack. Your oath to do no harm is under attack. Health care is under attack. At Doctors for America (DFA) patients over politics isn’t just a quaint phrase, it is our true belief that every person has a fundamental right to equitable, high-quality, and affordable health care. This is not a red, blue, or purple issue - this is a people issue.

Last week, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a budget resolution to potentially cut $880 billion from Medicaid effectively eliminating access to health care coverage for 15.9 million people, or 1 out of 5 of your friends and neighbors. According to KFF, Medicaid is a key source of health care coverage for certain populations including individuals living in poverty, the disabled, the elderly and children.

Think about what this means for the patients you serve. It’s terrifying, right? So talk about it, get mad, get loud, but goodness sake, do SOMETHING!

  • Share your story and create a :30 second video testimonial. Your stories are powerful tools in changing the hearts and minds of legislators. Here is a sample to see how easy this is.
  • Write an Op-Ed or letter to the editor sharing how cuts to Medicaid impact your patients. Here is a guide to help you do that.
When we remain silent to injustice, we are complicit.
