The year 2025 marks the 35th year that Scott and Melanie have called Winnsboro their home. They have three kids. Their oldest son, Jakob, is a Fireman/Paramedic in Longview. He and his wife Shannon, have Scott and Melanie's first grandchild, Braxyn, who is five years old, and they just welcomed their second son, Brooks, in March. Jakob's twin sister, Jilian, is the mother of their first granddaughter, Annisten, who is three years old. She is the Executive Director of Alter Ministries. Jilian, with Leslie James, President and CEO of Alter Ministries, opened a dance studio last June. Jilian is the Dance/Tumbling Instructor and Choreographer at Alter Dance, located downtown Winnsboro, and also serves as the Youth Director at our church, Grace Fellowship Ministries. Their youngest son, Nick, and his wife, Jalen, live in the Dallas area where he is a Chiropractor. "Raising our three kids was such a blessing, but there's nothing like being "Doc" and "Melly" to our precious grands," says Melanie.

We have a large line of durable medical equipment. Our Nova brand equipment is guaranteed to make life easier for those that need it. We have wheelchairs, canes, and rentable knee walkers to improve mobility. We also have transfer chairs, folding walkers, and equipment needed for a bath/shower. "We have been able to counsel, measure, and fit compression hose better than we ever have, and our patients love the personalized service," says Scott.
Scott's Pharmacy's compounding department has been compounding unique and specialized prescription for patients for over 18 years. Making special prescription medication in unique dosage forms to custom fit patients with their drug regimen has become a routine daily task.
“Between Scott, Pam Wallis, CPhT, Medicaid, Medicare, and Medicare Part D prescriptions are all accepted and welcomed. The pharmacy is enrolled in a program called iMedicare that allows them to help patients over 65 choose the Medicare Part D plan that best meets their needs based on their current medications. Scott says that “he can also help people who are turning 65, outside of open enrollment, choose a plan that may save them money.”
Scott stated, "I'm certain I speak for many when I say that in 2018, we are busier than we've ever been." For this reason alone, Scott's is proud to have a convenient drive-thru window. It also helps make the trip to the pharmacy easier for those who're sick or have sick children. For those unable to get out of the house, Scott's Pharmacy also offers free delivery inside Winnsboro city limits.
Their Prescription Program Stands Above the Rest
Seasonal flu shots have been available at Scott's pharmacy for almost 20 years. No appointment is necessary. Scott's also provides B-12 shots, shingles vaccines, and hormone injections. "All of our immunizations and B-12 shots are given by a pharmacist upon prescription orders from the patient's doctor," states Scott. With the immunization landscape constantly changing, having your physician and pharmacist work together is imperative.
Scott shared that the latest change in immunization is the new and improved shingles vaccine called Shingrix. "It is far more effective than the old vaccine and has a 2-dose schedule." The pharmacy is playing an increasingly important role in screening, billing, and reminding patients of vaccines required. They notify the patient's primary care physician of all immunizations given to include in your personal patient chart.
Scott's Pharmacy continues to utilize the prescription disposal program, TakeAway. This is a safe and effective way to get rid of your unused or expired prescriptions (Rx) or over- the-counter (OTC) medications. Patients may return tablets, capsules, creams, lotions, powders, inhalers, and liquid medications for disposal.
Controlled substances and syringes may not be returned by this program. Products should be left in the packaging the medication was dispensed in. This environmentally safe way of disposing of harmful chemicals is done free of charge.
It's Not Just A Pharmacy
Along with prescription services, Scott's Pharmacy offers a variety of other services including a large gift department. In the 3500 square foot gift department, you will find unique gifts for all occasions.
Melanie, along with Karen Azlin and Sophie Clayton are all ready to help you with all of your gift needs. "Many customers simply call and tell us what they need and we take care of the rest. We are always ready to help our customers choose the right gift to wrap, deliver, or ship," says Melanie.
The "gift girls" make several trips to market throughout the year to look for new and unique gift items for their customers. "We want to offer the same gifts that are available in larger markets so people don't have to travel out of town" says Misti.

They have a large selection of home décor including signage, lanterns, pillows, crosses, and frames. Scott's also has most everything you need for your kitchen. They carry Certified International dishes, available in a variety of colors with great pricing. ZEAL is another kitchen line available at the pharmacy. It contains a variety of colorful and creative every-day kitchen utensils. Scott's also carries a great selection of kitchen towels, grill lights, and other accessories. The kitchen section is popular for those redoing their home, or those shopping for soon-to-be married couples.
Scott's Pharmacy continue to carry Naked Bee Bath and Body. They also carry Michel Design Works, a second bath and body line that has gifts for every room in the house: kitchen soaps and lotions, bath bombs, tabletop and home décor just to name a few.
Duke Cannon Supply Co. remains one of the favorite gift lines for men. From a bar of soap to a complete grooming set, they have everything a man needs to look and smell his best. Nebo is another line popular with our male customers that carries a variety of lights and tools. Skinny & Co., a customer favorite, has many lifewith changing therapeutic-grade uses for coconut oil. Each item "combines 100% raw coconut oil essential, pure oils to moisturize, repair, and protect your skin."

Willow department Tree figurines and angels continue to be a "best seller" in the gift and are the perfect gift for so many different occasions. popular "Personalized with tiles are another gift item that is unique and remains very gifts our customers," says Candi.
Personalized items make great usually for be weddings, anniversaries, births, or many other occasions, and can that has ready in 10-12 days.
They also have a Swan Creek Candle line and a scent for everyone. Each candle is available in different sizes containers, along with melts for candle warmers.
Their newest candle line, about Tyler Candle Co., is very popular among the customers. Don't forget the famous Yankee car jars everyone loves! Aroma therapy diffusers the are doing well at Scott's. They carry many different essential oils to use in available diffuser.
Scott's has a great collection of Myra Bags. These bags are in all different shapes, sizes and styles. And for those little ones, perfect Scott's now carries Melissa & Doug. This line has all sorts of toys for kids, Old-fashioned for birthday and Christmas gifts.
And of course, Scott's still carries Scoop Candies and Balloon Bouquets. "Because we are constantly changing, decorating, and moving merchandise and displays, feel free to ask any of the "gift girls" up front if you can't find what you're looking for," says Amanda.

Every year in May, Scott's hosts the graduating WHS seniors for "Senior Day" where they visit the pharmacy, enjoy refreshments, and select their items to add to their graduation gift registry.
Each student is given an index card to write things they'd like to add to their registry. This has really helped family and friends pick out graduation gifts for their beloved graduating senior's.

They also offer bridal and baby registries. Karen explains that the purpose of the registries is to make the shopping experience pleasant, simple, and convenient.
