Color is such an important part of your artwork, and it can also be an important part of keeping up with trends. Certain color palettes go in and out of style, so it's helpful to keep that in mind if you want to create art that's fresh and modern. 

 

That's not to say that you have to use trendy color palettes in your artwork. It's just another tool to help you make marketable art. As with all trend tracking, you aren't required to follow trends to see success. It's all about balancing what's currently trending with your own style and the things that inspire you.

I'm always keeping a pulse on patterns I see in the design industry, and in 2024, I started to see a new and unexpected color combo popping up everywhere. I knew I had to add this to my 2025 Trend Report! 

 

This palette includes variations of lilac, neon, and navy. I've been seeing these colors show up in fashion, design, illustration, home decor, and so much more.

Maximalism is on the rise and so are unexpected color palettes with bright pops of color.

 

Pair this palette with the Surreal Dreamscape trend for some extra whimsy, or use it to make an evergreen trend like florals feel more fresh and modern.(One of the artists in our community did this last week! Check out their daisy submission with this color palette below!)
