Hi First name / friend,

Wow, hello March! What a way to kick things off. The weather here in Amsterdam has been stunning with blue skies and sunshine. It’s still a bit chilly, but right now I’m writing this from my balcony, watching the sun glisten on the IJ River.

This past week has been a busy one, filled with branding videos that I can’t wait to share with you. Maybe you caught my recent redesign of a Kombucha drink? If not, go check it out on my Instagram and let me know what you think. Or better yet, try redesigning it yourself. I’d love to see your take on it!

In this week's edition we've got an amazing report on the creator economy, a rebrand that looks quite similar to another rebrand, and a website for any of you that need to learn keyboard shortcuts.

Let's get into it.

App OF THE WEEK
Photoshop is now on iPhone

Last week, Adobe asked me to create a fun video about the new Photoshop app, now available on iPhone. While that video was a paid partnership, everything I’m saying here is purely my own thoughts, and honestly, I have loved using it this past week.

Maybe I’m showing my age, but I still remember using Photoshop CS2 on my parents' old desktop back in 2006, spending hours just trying to cut out an image. Creating something from my imagination took forever. The fact that you can now design anything you want on the go from your phone is absolutely mind-blowing. Seriously, you can have up to 8,000 layers…

If you love digital art, photography, or looking for a powerful photo editing app, Photoshop Mobile might be what you're looking for.

ARTICLE OF THE WEEK
Creator Economy 2025 Report

Graphic design might not seem directly tied to the creator economy, but if you're sharing your work online, building an audience, or selling anything digital, it's all connected. The State of Create report from Patreon breaks down the biggest challenges for creators right now, algorithm struggles, content shifts, and why direct relationships with fans matter more than ever.

One big takeaway? Creators are moving away from chasing likes and focusing on real connections and financial stability. Platforms like Patreon and Gumroad are helping creatives take control of their income. If you're thinking about new ways to grow your brand or make money beyond social media, this report is worth a look!

You know I always try and find articles that are informative, yet also beautiful to view, this one is no different!

DESIGN OF THE WEEK
Eventbrite Get's a Rebrand

This week, I’m excited to share a design transformation that caught my eye, Buck’s redesign of Eventbrite. The team completely elevated the platform’s look with a clean, modern approach that makes navigating events feel seamless. From bold typography to a more streamlined layout, this redesign balances both style and function, giving users a better experience while still keeping it visually engaging.

I highly recommend checking out the full case study to see how they pulled it off. It’s a great example of how smart design can completely refresh a brand and improve usability. My only issue, just a small one is, the logo. It looks very similar to Envato's new logo. I had to double check to make sure it wasn't exactly the same, but yes, it's very close to it.

WEBSITE OF THE WEEK
Illustrator Shortcut List

Illustrator shortcuts are a game-changer when it comes to boosting your workflow. They help you work faster and more efficiently by reducing the time spent navigating through menus. Whether it's zooming in, selecting tools, or adjusting anchor points, shortcuts can make a world of difference.

However, while they are incredibly helpful, they can also be a bit overwhelming to remember, especially if you're just getting started. With so many different commands and key combinations, it’s easy to forget them. Thankfully, having a shortcut reference guide nearby can be a great way to stay on track and make mastering shortcuts a little easier.

VIDEO OF THE WEEK
Redesigning the Ordinary

Graphic design has the power to turn even the most ordinary things into something special. The right font, colours, and photography can transform a basic product into an irresistible must-have, creating an emotional connection with the audience.

Creator kweinbydesign proved this by branding an everyday object in a way that makes you want to buy it. By applying smart design principles, she turned something simple into a visually powerful ad. It’s a perfect example of how powerful design can be when used creatively.
