Last month, we wrapped up our
fourth cohort of HOLIDAY LOVE,
and we couldn’t be more excited
to share what we accomplished…
together.

2024-2025 Holiday Love Review

 FROM NOVEMBER
THROUGH FEBRUARY,
with the dedication and generosity of
82 Financial
Partners,
we facilitated the redistribution of
$90,000
directly to
 45 Black Single
Mothers.

These no-strings-attached gifts allowed mamas to invest in what they needed most during the often financially stressful holiday season. Whether that meant gifts for their children, catching up on bills, or simply breathing a little easier.

This brings the total redistributed through this ecosystem to $310,000 since Holiday Love began—money moved directly into the hands of Black single mothers because we trust them to know what’s best for themselves and their families.

As a small, grassroots organization, moving this amount of money is no small feat. It’s a testament to the collective power of community and what’s possible when people say YES to wealth redistribution. To every single person who has been part of this ecosystem—whether you gave, received, or helped spread the word—thank you. This work exists because of you.

From The Mamas—In Their Own Words
Here's what a few of the mamas shared about their experience in this cohort:
“Holiday Love truly was a blessing to me and my family. The additional resources allowed me to give my son a great Christmas
and birthday during the month of December. It also helped lighten the burden of debt that I had accrued throughout the year.
This program is truly a Godsend, and I am so appreciative of the help that has been provided.”
“The idea that people I didn't
know had my back was really grounding. It enveloped me in a sense of community and shared responsibility for the well-being
of others because only good things can come from everyone being well supported and cared for. I was grateful that it was
support that was available simply because I asked to be supported. I didn't have to share my traumas and struggles to be
to be seen as worthy of it. I was trusted to know my own needs & use these additional resources in ways best suited my family
From Our Financial Partners—Why They Say Yes
They are a vital part of this ecosystem. Here’s what a few of them shared:
“I say yes to this experience year after year because it allows me the opportunity to ‘store the abundance I experience
in the belly of my neighbor,’ as Robin Wall Kimmerer says. I find myself with abundance not because I'm doing anything
exceptional or because I've worked hard for it, but because the system is working exactly as designed in service of white
property owners like me. Actively participating in this ecosystem lets me push back against the scarcity narrative, the indiv
Being part of this community fills me with so much joy, humility & hope.”

“Holiday Love's a beautiful ecosystem & experience
I initially said yes because I connected with the mission and the direct redistribution model—because
sharing abundance shouldn’t come with strings attached. Over the holiday season, this practice created intentional space to
live my values and embrace connection and community over the oppressive individualism of our society. In further reflection,
I dug into our household’s budget planning to make the redistribution amount a fixed value all year, transforming our
direct action from sporadic to continuous. Holiday Love might seem like a small act, but it’s transformative in practice."
Looking Ahead: Become a Financial Partner for Our Fifth Cohort
We’re already looking ahead to our fifth cohort of Holiday Love, and we can’t wait to support even more mamas later this year.

If you want to be part of this powerful ecosystem as a financial partner, we invite you to join our Holiday Love Financial Partner Waitlist. You’ll be the first to know when enrollment opens for the next round.

Together, we can continue to create a world where Black single mothers are supported, trusted, and celebrated.
