Change how you start your meetings.
Instead of welcoming people and asking them for a quick check-in whip around on what everyone is working on, try this:
"Right now, there is a company down the block who are sitting around a table, and they planning how to get ahead of us and tap into our weak links. How are we stopping them and getting ahead? Each person, report on what you're doing this week and how it is helping us move forward toward our goals."
That's a lot more compelling than the ho-hum weekly check in.
📣 Managers: Write a mini-script for yourself to frame your standard meetings with a conflict and fiery cause. This small change will make a big difference with how your team responds to time sitting around together in meetings.
