Let's talk about the price reduction and why it felt like a full-body YES.
From day one, my commitment has been to support the creative community. And Making Art Work has grown richer and fuller every year because of that commitment; with more content, more expert guidance, and an incredible team behind it. Naturally, Iāve adjusted the price over time to reflect that growth, so that I can continue to provide the best experience while paying my guest experts and team fairly (this is not always the case in this industry, let me tell you).
And, while inflation is doing its thing (hello, more expensive everything--not just eggs š), I also look around me and see so many artists who need support and who need fewer financial risks, not more. Times are hard, and the last thing I want is for Making Art Work to feel like another risk you have to weigh.
Iāve always offered scholarships and payment plans to make Making Art Work more accessible (and have continue that this year as well), but for the first time ever, Iām actually reducing the price across the boardānot because the value has changed (it hasnāt), but because it genuinely feels like the right thing to do.
Will I return the price to $1389 next year? Probably. But right now, this feels good. It feels aligned. And I hope to always trust that little voice, that glimmer, inside me.
If Making Art Work is calling to you, I hope this makes the decision a little easier. š
